Unrelated to the political discussion:

My dad has a Star Trek hat that apparently looks like some military branch apparel. It doesn't happen often, but he'll get randomly thanked for his service and then share a laugh when he points out that he's a Vietnam draft dodger.

I differentiate between conscientious objectors and cowards. I’ll assume he was the former.

I’ve got a brother, father, and grandfather who were hyped to go off to war. Tbh, I wish I was born into a more “cowardly” family. Would take draft-dodging dad over aggro-dad any day.

Nothing cowardly about not wanting to die in an utterly ridiculous and unnecessary war caused by politicians.
