Furious at how easily charmed I was by the way he apologized.

I'm more furious at how the video cut off too soon. "Couldn't hardly play catch with Dwire because........"

I know you're kidding, but unfortunately there are people out there that are outraged right now.

Arod: “One of my favorite parts of the movie, is the climax that’s generally known as everyone’s favorite part of the movie.”

i know it's fun to hate on A Rod because he says stupid things (he really does) but this really wasn't that noteworthy it's just standard interviewing stuff lol plus he connected it to his own life emotionally

Normalize 👏🏻 well 👏🏻 timed 👏🏻 cursing👏🏻 on 👏🏻 TV 👏🏻
Obviously there’s a level of professionalism involved and we shouldn’t have F-bombs and other beautiful words dropped left and right but still. Give us what we want!

If I've learned anything from the new season of Ted Lasso, it's how badly I want sports pundits to be able to curse.

It's based off the baseball field from the movie Field Of Dreams. It's a one night only thing.

It's definitely different. I thought the hour pregame was good to get the context. Definitely checkout the movie, maybe with your dad.

I feel like it says a lot about the relationship people have with their father whether they feel they should or should not watch Field of Dreams with their dad, lol

u/williamtbash New York Yankees 17d ago
My dad asked me to come over to play catch tonight. First time in 20 years.

I’d absolutely be having a stroke as my father passed several years ago.

Kevin Costner is a dude. He walks, talks, and acts like one. Don’t fault him one bit. As much as I’ll get clowned for saying this, “For Love of the Game” is one of my favorite baseball movies of all time.

u/ChunkySnarf Washington Nationals 17d ago
That’s a good movie! Costner really kills it in baseball movies

That's the first thing I've seen on this broadcast that might actually appeal to young people under the age of 30.

No, literally. They literally threw shit in the Costner household. And that's all they did.

FOX are somehow even worse at sports than they are at news. Jesus! This is fromage
7
u/bellknobbottomblues 17d ago
Fox baseball has always been terrible. And I'm not a Joe Buck hater. I like his subtle subversiveness, but Fox just never got on track with doing baseball.

That is true. Maybe he'd be better calling baseball on radio? Still think he's better than Nance as a national figure. Al Michaels > Buck > Nance. ABC doesn't seem to have a national guy anymore.

There is a certain gravitas added to events when the announcer is "an announcer" v. "a football guy," etc. Cable TV sort of killed that I guess. Everything is a niche thing now. No more Howard Cosell, Jim McKay, Muffburger types anymore.

I'd expect that from Billy Chapel but not from Kevin Costner.

I think it took a moment for Costner to realize A-Rod was laughing because he just swore on live tv.

How does ARod have a job still? He is a cheating piece of shit who does not give a fuck about the game.
I wish they could show how many times I mute the TV during broadcasts. He sounds like a 13 year old at LLWS who rode the bench.
