Need to pay workers a better wage to put up with retail bullshit.

If you think they’re gonna pay people a wage similar to a tradesman, you’re out of your mind.

Why not?

Someone who works in retail or as a waiter does not provide as much to society compared to someone who fixes pipes, changes roof shingles, and welds. There’s a reason why occupations pay more in comparison to others.

Retail/restaurant workers that aren’t management are not meant to be life careers. When you get older you will understand child.

I think you’re conflating “low skill” with “slavery”. See, if your business model relies on people who have to live on starvation wages even when working full time, then it’s a failure of a business. In fact, it’s the very reason why you and I have to pay MORE in taxes to pay for programs like food stamps and rent assistance. If you knew what you were talking about at all you’d understand that you literally hold the exact view that most rich people want you to have because it makes them richer.

It’s not illegal, those workers were not forced to work there. They negotiated and signed up at a business knowing they were going to be payed that much. If they’re paid that low, than their negotiation skills sucked and they should of picked another place to work.

Lmaooo, no one said anything about “legality” (though in a country where beastiality is legal in 15 states, that might not be the best argument to start off with.) Again you’re mistaking “low options” with “low negotiating skills.” Many of these people didn’t actually have the choices you think they did. But guess what, at the end of the day, they took your advice and started negotiating. Now you’re pissed that they’re winning. I guess those skills workers should learn how to negotiate better 🤷‍♂️

Because old white guys with economic power are cheap, cruel bastards.

The only way this is solved is by solving costs fist. Tie wage to housing cost… one goes up so does the other.

Over time they can expand the things tied to housing to create a better functioning system that builds wealth at all levels.

Yeah, but see that’s not the plan. Your goals are different than the multi-billionaires’

1

u/PennJerseyDevil 19d ago

Not really. The government makes up have different goals… but we are still the same :).

Apologies, this makes no sense to me. I see the typo, can navigate that. Other than biological functions, I don’t see parallels in the experience of laborers and multi-billionaires.

Well we all want food and shelter… we all have a desire to find happiness. I can go on… but the basic problem is the government gets in the way… and do so to enrich themselves, but because they are leeches, most never make it to multi billionaire which is why I can say billionaires and laborers are the same

You believe it is the lawmakers’ fault for creating the custom tailored solutions requested by the multibillionaires that donate to them? Do you believe no blame deserves to be placed on the people incentivizing that kind of process? How well do you believe you can grasp these figures?

I think the government created roadblocks… and people have to find a way around them… omits also donations just seem to be the best way for both parties (financially).

Wealth was a badge of honor in the Roman Empire… and when bad times struck that badge of honor became a boasting mechanism as they had the spare grain during famine, the spare men during war, etc.

This article is ten years old.

How much could things have changed for America in the past ten years?

I’d like to help you but I surrender. I must return to my labor, and I’m not sure there’s room for progress here.
