Top comment is censored. I've been on reddit for 15 years now (first two were lurking), and I've never the level of censorship across all subs like we have today. It's so annoying, just let people say what they want and the community will upvote/downvote as they see fit. You don't need to protect us from words.

Been lurking Reddit for 13 years, account is 10 years old. This site is past it’s glory day. The censorship, group think, and bashing of contrarian ideas is unbelievable.

Unfortunately there seems to exist nothing comparable to what once was. We cringed when the internet advanced to 2.0- this is far worse.

Someone said to me on here like 3 or 4 years ago:
All the smart people that made reddit good have already left or are already leaving.

So true. You go to forums to get different opinions and views on matters. You can learn a lot, but not here.
PS People censor when they can't refute the statement because it's true.

Reddit as a whole has turned into a censored place. I told someone to fuck off in a sub and was temporarily banned from it. When I asked how that was attacking someone, the mod permanently banned me. These idiots are power hungry

Civility is an enforced rule on many subreddits.
It’s your own fault for not knowing the rules.
I was permanently banned from a subreddit for something very similar, it took two years of begging and reading and re-reading reddiquette/subreddit rules, etc before I was able to put together a reasonable enough request to be allowed to participate again.
It’s not censorship to kick assholes out of your place of business. It’s good business.
I’ve been working on not being an asshole because it actually makes Reddit more enjoyable for me AND other people.
If a customer came into my work place and started telling my other customers to fuck off, I’d also ask them to leave.

"You don't need to protect us against words"
Except apparently they do. How do you think antivax sentiment spreads? That sentiment, "just words", poses a physical threat to people.

Who is the arbiter of truth? Either you believe the government should be the arbiter of truth or you disagree with that statement,Science supports an opposing view blindly following is not science it’s dogma

u/denga 18d ago
Who said anything about government? Mods are choosing to remove obviously false statements that are contributing to people dying.
Edit: science supports other people who have a modicum of understanding (eg other scientists) making opposing observations. Science says nothing about your average non-expert evaluating science and some moon's antivax conspiracy theory. That's a matter of public policy, not science.
Also, are you a scientist?
1
u/TheAutoAlly 18d ago
Do I need to be a scientist to review information? Is Bill Gates a scientist? I seem to remember him on every television show an interview decreeing public policy and telling you how the next 12 to 24 months was going to go not to constantly bring him up because believe me I’m not trying to attach myself to that wild bandwagon, if the past year and a half is anything to go on the difference between conspiracy theory and general consensus seems to be about six months, yes the mods may be choosing to remove information but they are looking towards Government agencies and if the information doesn’t align with the approved message it’s getting taken down, The official message has changed so many times now that it’s hard to count

Exactly, he was talking about public policy. When it comes to efficacy of vaccines and other matters of science, he follows the lead of scientists.
And yes, you need significant experience and /or training to evaluate scientific data. That's kind of my point

u/TheAutoAlly 18d ago
I understand your point and where you’re coming from and you may not believe these things are related but they are tangentially.

Truth is dangerous and must be stamped out: https://imgur.com/Nh37Bho

You're kind of demonstrating my point perfectly. Non-scientists, not having any grounding in the subject matter, can't effectively evaluate the data in a holistic way.

That data in my graph was used on CBS news. They were called on on it, and had to admit it.
Why did they do that? Is that science?
I do believe that human's do have an effect on earth's environment.
People are not stupid. When you lie to them or bend the truth, you create this problem. That's what I am saying.
Your scientist priests that you bow down and worship, rather than be transparent and honest and follow the science, don't want to risk their grants and job.
Fukishima. "There was no reactor meltdown." A week later: "there was 3 reactor meltdowns."
Yellow cake uranium and Iraq with Bush Jr.
Monsanto destroying everyone who said otherwise that their Round-Up was safe. Now, the truth comes out.
Sorry, people on the left and the right, have every reason to NOT trust the gov because they lie and they manipulate everything for their gain.
Your problem is your blanket trust of them.

I think he or she is referring to a de worming medicine. Some think it might help against the virus. I'm undecided.

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 194,233,462 comments, and only 46,653 of them were in alphabetical order.

I'm trying to explain to my half African son why in some social circles he and his mother gets berated and dehumanized to this day, but not myself other than my relationship to them.
I want to know what triggers the need to step on someone based on racial/geographic/socioeconomic factors only.
No judgment, just questions...

Hi. Normal comment here. The article says one of the lots has been yanked because the vial packaging facility in Spain got some unknown particulates in the vials from the machinery. They yanked the two lots next to this one too just to be safe until they’re examined.
The end.
