Tips For Riding The Red Line for a new resident Ask CHI
Just moved to the city this week (already in love with the neighborhood), and my apartment is a quick walk from the Sheridan stop of the Red Line. I use the train a lot to get to work and go around town, are there any tips on how to stay safe? Any stops to avoid at certain times? (I've heard Belmont is known for crime).
Forgive me for my fairly novice question, I just moved from a farm town of 2500 people.

Be aware of your surroundings. I only use one earbud and generally look up from whatever I'm doing (phone/kindle/book) at each stop to see who gets and and make sure I'm comfortable. If you are ever in doubt about your safety, trust your instincts and get off at the next stop, switch to another car or wait for the next train.
