Controversial opinion: The Amazon lockers are actually useful* CHI Talks
*but should not be installed in the middle of a fucking park sidewalk
If you live in a walk-up, or in an area that is otherwise insecure, you are effectively unable to have packages safely delivered to your home.
This is extremely annoying, given how useful/convenient Amazon can be. Specifically as busy parents with small kids… it is amazingly useful to have small things delivered the same day or next day without having to go to the store.
When I used to live in a walk up, I made friends with the owners of the restaurant I lived above, who would occasionally accept packages on my behalf.
I would also have packages delivered to work, which has obviously not been possible for the last couple of years.
Having a secure Amazon locker within walking distance of my place would have been a godsend.
But ffs.. put it in an alley or parking lot or something

Genuine question. How much do you think Amazon should be paying? If they are paying less, are you still okay with them in parks?
