Let's just say i actually tainted an electronic with melted wax. How would one remove it? I'm kinda curious now.

P sure you could chip it off and then scrub off the residue? Not sure tbh and I think it depends on the kind of wax

The molten wax would send that screen back to it's creator, no?

Idk, depends how much heat the screen can take, wax melts at a pretty low temperature

Physically clean it off the laptop with a flat metal tool. Get a cloth or something to wipe it off. The wax is just on the top. Since it was melted (hot temperature) it might have damaged the screen so any heat sensitive components will need replacing.

yea, be gentile when scraping it. you might want to use some solvent like rubbing alcohol to get the wax off

wont the metal scratch the screen?

All wax problems can be solved with either ice or heat. Ice on hard surfaces to solidify it making it easy to pick off. Or cover with a towel and warm it with an iron to soak it up off soft surfaces.
Thanks mom, appreciate your life tips.

It looks more like wax tbh, and it spread all over. If it were another thing it woud have been more precise I think

how does one not clean that as soon as it happens? also if it was hot wax wouldn't it melt the screen orrrr
3
u/Chickennoodlesleuth Nov 30 '22
Melted wax doesn't tend to get hot enough to melt a screen. Also it's easier to clean off once it dries, you just chip it off

He already figured out how to get it off. Id say it’s probably time for “the talk” though.
