I think he's an ass hole. He could have restrained him without choking him. Grappling skills are as much about control.

Yeah you can take a chance and full sprawl on the dude hoping he doesn’t somehow get on top and g&p

Also that standing guillotine isn’t really hurting anybody unless it’s fully applied (it wasn’t here).

What do you mean fully applied? He had that high elbow going pretty hard. Guy literally went asleep.

You see him lean to his left to apply more leverage for the crank/choke. Then the guy goes out. He knew what he was doing.

Absolute nonsense. There’s like 10 different ways to control a clearly disoriented fighter that doesn’t put you and risk of GNP. what he did was absolutely unnecessary and harmful to the fighter for no good reason.

Edit: also, the guillotine WAS fully applied here. That’s why the fighter was unconscious when his cornermen got to him.

He ignored his duties as a ref and placed this fighter even more in harm's way. I would say he's not fit for that role if he thinks it's acceptable to choke a disoriented fighter.
