What do you do that you earn six figures?

It seems like a lot of people make a lot of money and it seems like I’m missing out on something. So those of you that do, whats your occupation that pays so well?

Do you like your job? Considering a switch to it but don't have much insight on the day to day

Not OP but have worked in PM for the last 4 years. It varies pretty widely based on where you work, the size of the company, and maturity of the product you’re working on. The job at a startup where you’re launching a new product to market will be a lot different than “keeping the lights on” for a mature product at a large company. The job comes with a lot of responsibility but also a lot of autonomy. Also the people you work for will play a large part on how much you like the job. Honestly one of my favorite parts about the job was collaborating with other people but remote work has impacted that a lot. Overall it pays pretty well and most roles are interesting. It has its downsides but so does every job.

Boris nailed the difference between startup and bigger company. I love the job. You end up understanding the consumer to deliver the right product for them. At the end when the product is in their hands it's so fulfilling to see how much they love it.

Day to day changes based on where we are in the product development process. In the beginning, you're defining requirements after consumer work.

After you have your set of ideal requirements, it ends up being chasing others down and making tradeoffs to deliver a product at quality and at cost.

It's a painful (you're accountable for everything) but extremely rewarding job when done right.

I’m a Director Product Management. My company is not Nasdaq. Curious what do you make annually?

Not OP, but I’ve seen pay run the gamut with PM to an absolute ridiculous degree. 80-400K between PM and SrPM levels. Bonkers.
