What do you do that you earn six figures?

It seems like a lot of people make a lot of money and it seems like I’m missing out on something. So those of you that do, whats your occupation that pays so well?

Man i have a BS degree in accounting. Didnt get selected for B4 internship or job after graduation. Needed to work tho so i worked at a warehouse and assisted the controller 1 day a week doing quickbooks. Never had the confidence with mediocre GPA, feared rejection. Im 25 now and want to change my life. Been out of work for a while. Where do i even start from here?

Sit down and write out a plan. Get some certifications maybe or continuing education credits. Pay for linkedin pro and connect with job recruiters. Lots of places hiring right now but you gotta start moving. Good luck

Ive always liked information systems. Would it be pretty crazy to get my cisa before ever working a legit accounting job? Wouldnt i have to have my cpa as well? I know these are rookie questions here i really appreciate your response thanks for the encouragement!

Sorry- not in accounting. I actually work in environmental insurance broking. But I wrote to you as someone who felt stuck for a little while, and only got going later in life. The advice worked for me!

Everyone hiring right now. Try to get a role at a smaller public firm, stay there for a year and apply to b4 ( if you want to go b4 route)

I don't have an accounting degree and I've never worked in public. Public is not at all as required as school makes you think. Just start applying to staff acct positions, even if you don't fit all the requirements, and get really comfortable with excel. Now is a super good time to be looking.
