What do you do that you earn six figures?

It seems like a lot of people make a lot of money and it seems like I’m missing out on something. So those of you that do, whats your occupation that pays so well?

Crazy in what sense? Crazy to break in or Crazy to get a job, stay hired, actually hire someone? Also curious as to what is leading most to get rejected.

Crazy in a sense that it is hard to hire someone. It is definitely a job seekers market.

Rejections vary. Could be not a right fit in terms of skill sets. Other cases not at the right level experience wise.

For the org I am in we need senior people due to project scope and velocity.

Some that I rejected I referred to other teams because I saw potential so it wasn’t like they may not have been considered at all.

Def a job seeker market. I’m trying to hire and having to pay 20-40k over what we would have paid last year.

Are you hiring for senior positions? And are they negotiating up to that price? Or this initial offer is that high.

Im having to use a tech recruiter and the salaries are pretty much set when I get the info from her. So yeah, the initial number is that high.

I just hired a junior and a senior and working on a DBA. DBA is completely different. We’re swamped with good looking applicants with a simple linkdin job posting.

Yeah, just for the DBA position. Devs are harder to find right now.
