I believe they will slap that hardware into a standalone VR unit within the next couple of years, mark my words. HL3 will be in VR but they are waiting until Valve has a VR unit to sell along with it is my thinking.
That is my thinking. Oculus Quest is a somewhat affordable VR headset, but not very powerful graphics-wise compared to PC-VR. So my belief is that they will shove the hardware of the handheld device they are marketing right now into a VR headset and sell it as a standalone-PCVRequivalent headset and then push HL3 on it in order to sell a fuckton of headsets.
Atleast I hope that is what they will do, because the selling power of HL3 is what could really make VR take off to the mainstream gaming market
