The same team who made left 4 dead are about to release a game called back 4 blood. They couldn't use the name for copyright reasons, but it's basically left 4 dead 3. It's in beta right now, you should check it out!
It's really not. There've been lots and lots of changes made to the gameplay that (for me) broke the perfect formula of the first 2 entries to the series. And I also think the game clearly lacks Valve polish in the engine/visuals department.
I had a hard time even getting into 2, after thoroughly enjoying the first L4D. Too... fast? And the atmosphere just wasn't quite there? Not sure how to describe it.
Yeah all their plans include "eventually" so maybe another couple decades. To me it seems they like releasing games with significant new technology advances which is annoying to wait for
Many of us are very cautious after the absolute p2w bs that was Evolve with its insane amount of dlc. Not sure the team has learned it’s lesson and considering how valve tended to handle things like this with keeping it cosmetic only I don’t have very high hopes
