Nobility on the Visgothic Kingdom Discussion/Question
Hello, I was recently studying a little about the Visgothic Kingdom and I became very curious about it's political structure.
As far as I know there were many aristocrats, regional rulers, who used to rule certain area, they united themselves on the Concil of Toledo with bishops to elect the king, and he was the military leader, who could declare war, create an army and etc..
Still, I couldn't find much more than that. What would be the titles of the nobles? Those aristocrats. How were they chosen? Elected by the locals or in a dianistic way? And did them or any of them had any other different occupation?
Thank you.

The book The Visigoths from the Migration Period to the Seventh Century: An Ethnographic Perspective by Peter Heather would probably be a good resource.

I don't know enough about the topic to give a reasonably descriptive or accurate answer. I was simply suggesting a book that would.
