100 points to whoever can name the species! (I'm in Eastern NA)
Edit: those guessing elms are very close! Used to be in the elm family
50 u/UlteriorMoas 26d ago I think it is a Georgia Hackberry (Celtic tenuifolia). I have one in my yard in the SE US! It also has a mosaic virus, and looks nearly identical to your picture. 39 u/ThumYorky 26d ago Correct genus!!! Different species 45 u/HeartOfYukonGold 26d ago Looks to me like a hackberry, C. occidentalis! I’m not great with woody species out of my state though! 25 u/ThumYorky 26d ago Ding ding ding! Winner 7 u/HeartOfYukonGold 26d ago Woohoo! They are such a lovely tree, I love their bark. 3 u/byingling 26d ago I'd say you do pretty well. If a walnut falls on my head, I'm pretty sure I'm not standing under an oak tree. And I know what a maple leaf looks like. Beyond that... 2 u/DarkSpectrum 25d ago You have a superpower, that's awesome 17 u/f_n_a_ 26d ago I think it may have mosaic virus whatever it is 1 u/CreatrixAnima 26d ago I’ve never heard of that before this thread. 3 u/CreatrixAnima 26d ago I would’ve guessed the Birch, but I don’t know. 2 u/ecrow6990 26d ago Gf said slippery elm! 2 u/AstridDragon 26d ago Some kind of elm maybe? 1 u/DJBunBun 26d ago Like /u/AstridDragon said, it looks like an elm of some kind. 1 u/Wermhat69420 26d ago Given that the leaf still looks healthy, even though a bit nibbled, I think it might just be variegation. 1 u/XxSavageSharkxX 26d ago Plant

Gf said slippery elm!
Some kind of elm maybe?
Like /u/AstridDragon said, it looks like an elm of some kind.
Given that the leaf still looks healthy, even though a bit nibbled, I think it might just be variegation.
