I broke the laws of Reddit Motorcycle Physics Today

I broke the Reddit motorcycle laws today. I took my 2009 Ninja 250R…ON THE FREEWAY.
There, it did 75 miles an hour…and…it passed cars…and it didn’t blow up!
Oh…but it gets worse….

I…I have to admit that after riding for a couple of hours…I….

I DIDN’T GET BORED!

The Heresy!

What’s the joke?

"freedom units" is not being said seriously. It's a joke, a play on the old WW1-era propaganda posters that tried to rename french fries to "freedom fries" and failed hilariously.

It’s not WW1 propaganda, it’s 2003’s invasion of Iraq’s republican bullshit. And there’s not much of a play on words when the two are not related in any way… Maybe renaming meters into freedom miles would have made more sense and have kept the parallelism.

Of course it’s not said seriously, or at least wasn’t initially, but it’s become ubiquitous enough on the internet and the average American is engrossed enough by the idea of his unique and superior freedoms that it’s become more than the 2nd degree phrase it was initially purported to be.

And that’s way too many words to explain a really inconsequential statement.
