That would not stop children from dying of COVID.

Still being obtuse since limiting transmission is how the vaccinated protect the unvaccinated. More than that, at least one kid in the article and I'm sure hundreds of those children testing positive are over 12 and could be vaccinated, which over 99% prevents death from covid. Learn things.

I'm 100% for taking the vaccine however I'm not disillusioned by the fact that we will not prevent deaths even when everyone is vaccinated. We are dealing with about 350M people.

The vaccination is not 99% effective. Studies show that it is anywhere between 77% to 97% effective. There has only been 1 study out of the many listed by the CDC that has claimed 99%.

Additionally, the vaccine is far below 99% effective at preventing transmission with it being anywhere between 60% to 90% effective.

The vaccines do not prevent transmission or infection in any amount. They were developed to prevent hospitalizations and deaths for the one receiving the vaccine.
The manufacturers said that from day one.

Don't spread fake news. The vaccine was intended to reduce transmission and the manufacturers never said otherwise. It's not effective at lowering the spread of the delta variant, but it is against alpha. Don't be disingenuous and don't spread fake news.
