There are plenty of studies and interviews done with people who have survived attempts. These are just a few articles that I've come across. The golden gate bridge is, unfortunately, a popular suicide spot so a lot of the stats come from there.
I've done plenty of cliff dives for fun and half way through when my ears start whistling from the speed I regret it.
They added fear to an equation that didn't include it before.

Think of a reckless driver that loses control and almost dies. After that point he might drive like a grandma, is that because he found a new viewpoint on life or the fear of death changed his ways
That sounds like a hypothetical scenario and not even one that includes a suicide attempt. Also, fear can drastically change your opinion on whatever it is you fear so you can get a new viewpoint on life through fear of death.

Nearly all survivors of a jump suicide attempt have instant regret after jumping and don't attempt it again. This man saved someone's life.
