Ive tried to train my cattle dog to bring the ball back after its thrown. No matter what he wont do it, and i end up throwing 3-4 tennis balls for him, then go pick them up...
Dashing my dreams of sittin with a beer, watching my dog drop the ball into one of the ball launchers and shooting after it.
My dog does the same and I'm the one doing the fetching. But, he'll bring bad the toy repeated indoors. I don't get it. We use bubbles outdoors to tire him out.
I never thought of using bubbles. My dog loves goin after junebugs and any other flying critter that doesn't sting(learned that the hard way). I think he would love that!
Exactly the same as my mothers collie. There are about 15 balls in the back garden. He loves to chase and catch the ball but simply will not bring it back. I throw all the balls to one end of the garden for him and then we swap ends. He'll also obsess about any ball that goes anywhere he can't reach even though there are loads more of them.
It’s because you break down and get the balls you let the dog train you if the dog doesn’t want to play fetch then leave the balls don’t pick it up where it can see you and end fetch then and there try again another day eventually they’ll understand that to get the playtime they want they have to bring the ball
