I like the concept, but calling it a pup seems really weird since a pup is a baby or young dog. Makes me uncomfortable.

I call all dogs pups to be honest. I get corrected on it all the time when I pet a dog and call them a puppy and the owner is like "actually they're 7" or something and I'm like "ah yes, a senior puppy".
