I’ll never forget the time my girlfriend came back from a planned parenthood in tears because 50 or so women were shouting baby killer and whore at her. The best part is she wasn’t even getting an abortion. She was getting prenatal vitamins for a healthier pregnancy.

That is my biggest gripe with planned parenthood protestors. Seems they fail to realize PLANNED PARENTHOOD DOES MORE THAN JUST ABORTIONS.

What you don't realize is that they're against more than just abortion. Anything that promotes sexual health or sex positivity is of the devil, to them.

Sex is just for married people and JUST for making children in their small world.

Imagine what a shitty existence that would be.

They see suffering as sacred because otherwise what's the point.

Explains why many American Christians have such a hard on for capitalism.

Yes, a lot of religious people think there's a price in the afterlife for enduring a harsh life durin their lifetime on Earth.

The best strategy to control the masses? Convince them the rich making their life miserable is a good thing! Incredible...

u/jumping_jack_flush 15d ago

I understand that. I just think it's fuckin stupid. Imagine living your entire life in misery because an invisible man in the sky tells you too.

Personally I'm an atheist, my choice my beliefs. But IF there is a God, I have no problem with God, I have a problem with the people who claim to speak for him

No Christian lives in misery by choice. You are confusing cultural morals and Christianity. In Africa they fuck all the time and have no doubt, a lot of Africans are Christian the other is Islamic.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. My atheist ass gives blood regularly. I volunteer regularly and I think organized religion ESPECIALLY Christianity is loaded with hypocrisy and stupidity. Not too mention in the US right now. Christians are the ones causing all the fucking problems

Remember that as Kabul gets taken over and Afghanistan is another staging ground 😅. Wow you give blood? Never heard that one before.

Its shitty enough that it turns people into anti abortion protesters.

Sex is just for married people and JUST for making children in their small world.

So.. for people want to become parents... in some sort of planned fashion?

3

u/santagoo 15d ago

Yeah but if you're otherwise having sex with your wife or husband with contraception you avoid babies that is sinful, too.

Every time you have sex it has to have baby consequence.

3

u/FapplePie85 15d ago

And more than that, women who have sex should be punished. Period. Even if they're married.

86

u/Rainboq 15d ago

It's about punishing women for being in control of their bodies and having sex. Abortions are just easier to yell about than contraceptives.

And even then, Evangelicals didn't care about abortion issues when Roe happened. They only started talking about it when the Feds came for their segregated private schools, and they knew being pro-segregation wouldn't get them very far politically

-8

u/RGivens 15d ago

It's about not killing babies, that is all.

7

u/Rainboq 15d ago

It was never about the fetuses, they're just a convenient wedge issue.

I’m trans and get my HRT through planned parenthood. I frequently get harassed on my way in because they assume I’m getting an abortion when I don’t even have a uterus.

Like other have said -- it's entirely about control.

If you take a long time to talk to one (don't) and really drill down on what they're arguing for (afraid of) it always comes down to control over the woman's body.

I had a sad day last week, drove past my local PP and there were two teenage girls out protesting (signs & all) with anti-abortion signs and some other shit. Their fathers (and mothers, smfh) were there with them.

Anyway, I am continually depressed by the way our education system has failed nearly half of our country. There are more factors but this is the one that I'd climb up onto a hill to die upon. Makes one want to become a teacher... just to do some damn good.

Right but let's just say you believe that abortion was murder. Would the fact that they did other stuff make the murder factory any better? I am pro choice, but I'm just trying to see it how they do.

38

u/FapplePie85 15d ago

Most of the other stuff is designed to prevent the abortions, soooo.... Yeah.

23

u/JustABizzle 15d ago

Yup. Because of Planned Parenthood, I never needed an abortion.

The abortion part is just icing on their shit-cake.

The logic for those people is these locations give opportunity to have medical support for pregnancy or even sexual wellness that allows people to lead riskier lifestyles.

Therefore, the location promotes moral bankruptcy.

EDIT! guys don't downvote to disagree /u/Oxynewbdone. The guy is asking a fair question as to how someone can unreason themselves to a very reasonable community service.

Never mind the wellness and health checkups, the free/lowcost medicines and services it provides to people. Their argument is predicated on a series of goalposts and mental gymnastics that are not reasonable or logical.

It helps poor people -> poor people are uncivilized -> uncivilized people lead hedonistic lifestyles -> hedonistic people catch STDs and have unwanted children -> it kills babies

it's worse when you add religion to the stack because now they flip the religion on it's head to misrepresent two possible good things the worst way possible. Mind you, Jesus did not hang out with the religious or the chaste. He hung out with prostitutes, foreigners, and criminals. Jesus flipped over tables and chased the religious and chaste with horsewhip.

Hospitals also perform abortions. Are hospitals only murder factories as well?

-5

u/feeltheslipstream 15d ago

It doesn't matter.

You prefer they instead focus on only abortions?

It's the protests that are wrong, not the targets.

9

u/cold_lo_mein215 15d ago

My issue is with protestors protesting PP as a whole because of abortions. PP offers so many other important services like disease testing and treatment. I’m a male and I use PP for routine STD screenings.

-4

u/rex_lauandi 15d ago

I just don’t think you’re considering what the other side believes (that it is murder).

If there was a library in town that let people check out books, use the internet, gave free classes, and also murdered a few people a day, it doesn’t matter what you think about those other services, you’d surely be against that library.

-5

u/feeltheslipstream 15d ago

So the problem isn't the protests... It's that they affect you.

-1

u/KnightTemplar777 15d ago

Yeah they do, they also donate to Democrat campaigns as they receive tax money and tax right offs.

-4

u/RGivens 15d ago

not really.

7

u/cold_lo_mein215 15d ago

Testing, screenings, treatment and contraceptives? Sorry you wish the handmaids tail was real life.

1

u/RGivens 13d ago

the what?

-4

u/coffeedude7 14d ago

Why don't they make a sister company that does all the good stuff and the other do abortions? Wouldn't that solve everyone's problems?

Oh wait. Not PP's, because they rely on comments like these to alleviate political and social pressure. If all they did was abortions, a lot fewer people would be happy to defend them.
