They just miss being on the front page of important newspapers worldwide that only the dear leader and his friends get to read.

To be fair, we don't really know what's going on there. As you know, our media typically has odd stories about Kim blowing up dissidents with cannons, starving his citizens, etc so you're never going to hear a balanced story about North Korea. It's hard to figure whether Kim is escalating tensions by firing missiles or he is firing missiles because he's hearing/seeing provocations. I dare say it's a bit of both.

Given that US does not want a nuclear armed North Korea, it seems logical to me that they're looking for a good reason to take them out before they no longer have the opportunity (no different to Iraq and WMD, etc). Kim can see the writing on the wall after seeing US instigate many a regime change so it stands to reason why he's getting feisty.

North Korea demanded that the U.S. and South Korea stop large-scale military exercises, calling them a provocation that could draw "more powerful follow-up measures."

"The situation in the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity has entered the serious confrontation phase of power for power again due to the ceaseless and reckless military moves of the U.S. and south Korea," North Korea's foreign ministry said in a statement carried on the country's official news agency.

The U.S. and South Korea began one of their largest combined military air drills with hundreds of warplanes from both sides staging mock attacks 24 hours a day for the better part of a week. The operation will run until Friday, and will feature about 240 warplanes conducting about 1,600 sorties, the U.S. Air Force said.

For real! No one wants to invade your shitty little country. We don’t want your resources. Continue being a shit head dictator like Putin and leave the rest of the world alone.

7

u/andio76 Nov 01 '22

....resources....?!? Huh?

3

Rare earth metals

2

Oh yea...they are the only sources for Cerium

2

u/Jaew96 Nov 01 '22

You sure it’s cerium? A quick Wikipedia search says that cerium is a very common and abundant metal

I genuinely wonder why we even try to jabe decorum on a national level.. like why can't our official response be "suck my cock Kim." Or "Kim is gonna get his bussy fucked by the West's magnum dong."

I was watching a Johnny Harris video on North Korea the other day on YouTube, so Im being honest that my source is YouTube up front.

But apparently North Korea is terrified of America and how easily it dominated their skies during the Korean war which has been passed down. Not sure what this adds to it, but I was hoping to maybe add context to why North Korea acts the way it does in regards to the US. Still the regime is fucking horrific anyway

32

u/AdminsAreCancer01 Oct 31 '22

NK started the Korean war and the US didn't get involved until a UN resolution. Everything they say is a pretext to keep control over their citizens or to get aid from outside.

I seriously doubt they are worried about an unprompted invasion when SK is no longer interested in reuniting.

4

u/Sim0nsaysshh Oct 31 '22

Oh I know this, let me link the video

The North Koreans make a big stink every time the US and South Korea conduct drills. Its just their MO.

4

u/bn1979 Nov 01 '22

Every freaking year… The joint drills are an annual thing.

-4

u/gecipar Nov 01 '22

I mean it is a invasion simulation so I see why they would freak out.

In what universe to those NKs think that them complaining about US military drills will magically stop them? I get the feeling whenever countries complain about the US military they just add another nuclear powered aircraft carrier and probably a few more of their submarines nearby as well.

1

u/frankyfrankwalk Nov 01 '22

I don't think this stupidity is for North Koreans, isn't their stories about their dear leader and how he descended from a godlike family born in the mountains? I get the feeling constantly threatening nukes seems to be his approach to the western world.

12

u/wiseoldfox Oct 31 '22

He should ask Russia how well the whole " I have nuclear weapons" thing is going.

7

u/WinterWindWhip Oct 31 '22

The likes of China, Russia, and NK don't feel they look weak when their shrill "demands" are always ignored?

6

u/numbers_88 Oct 31 '22

Kim is basically saying "Stop making me and my army look weak with your superior arsenal! I have an image to uphold and you're screwing that up. Everyone here thinks that we won WW2 and that we made the movie Shrek. Could you please stop now"

2

u/abzinth91 Oct 31 '22

After all the shit the NK government said, I dare to ask: is that Shrek-thing true?

1

u/numbers_88 Oct 31 '22

Some users on Reddit have told me that it's true.

5

u/Scary-Owl2365 Oct 31 '22

“We’re going to pretend to bomb Japan/South Korea”. “We’re going to pretend to destroy your country” “We’re going to protest”. Forever.

3

"Guys please dont do drills, we are going to bomb the ocean :c"

3

u/Pyjama_Llama_Karma Oct 31 '22

Will someone just take this guy out please....

3

u/tikkamasalachicken Nov 01 '22

3

3

u/zenzukai Nov 01 '22

2

What could these people possibly do that wouldn't ultimately lead to the extinction of Humanity other than absolutely nothing or simply choosing to stop antagonizing everyone else? All they ever do is make a bunch of noise and fling a few giant metal cans into the ocean.

1

u/bluebellwolf Nov 01 '22

Really ur gonna demand the USA

1

u/RedsRaver Oct 31 '22

“No.”

-5

u/mtnkidd83 Oct 31 '22

Its like we are inciting them to test another nuke so we have a reason for war… all this is completely rediculous. Just goes to how advanced we really are as a species. We are morons! We will be the death of us, not nukes. Nukes will cause it but “we” are the reason. Period. Negotiate and stop isolating a portion of humanity and starving them, no wonder they are so damn desperate!!!! We wiuld have already nuked them if the tables were turned. I’m sorry but this pic goes crazy. When is the album drop?

1

u/Macasumba Oct 31 '22

But you keep shooting missiles

1

u/trekie88 Oct 31 '22

North Korea makes the same demand every year. Almost every year the exercises occur on schedule.

1

u/nemworld Oct 31 '22

Here we go again. Between North Korea and Russia’s constant threats, the entire world (less Ukraine) are going to start tuning them out. Threats only work when there is fear the action will be carried out. I’m honestly shocked to say it but my fear is fading.

1

u/Law-of-Poe Oct 31 '22

Hey Kim, ask Putin how such demands are regarded by the US. If you’re lucky, you’ll end up with more drills

1

u/Infinaris Oct 31 '22

How about Nooooo.

1

u/crabcakesandbeer Oct 31 '22

North Korea should stop shooting missiles around; someone might listen to them. Until then NK is a threat.

We know the real story is that the BTS Army is coming for North Korea.

1

u/skrshawk Nov 01 '22

But no one wants to be tied up in a deadly war anymore
