How do you deal with any other languages aside from English? Even if a product is destined for an English only market (which let’s be honest are basically small toys with English on them and English language books), anyone manufacturing will likely be using components manufactured in multiple different countries, with different languages and different ways of structuring names etc.

This is basically how you used to get Chinglish names and instructions for stuff on cheap products from China

If you want to see the outcome of what your currently suggesting, lookup longest car names, there’s a lot more English in them, as well as abbreviations yet they’re still a mess to understand/interpret from a layman’s perspective

To add to this, it’s a hell of a lot easier to cross language barriers with the the alphanumeric product name than it is with the English name, which only works for English and would need accurately translating for every language&product for every region you want to buy/sell in.

It would be an absolute nightmare to try for every product that’s sold in multiple regions, etc

But would that then imply that all commissioned works aren’t art?

Or does the difference of who (or more specifically what) you commission to produce something decide whether it’s art?

Unironically they’re basically already doing that by having ads longer than the skip button, as you trade off ignoring the ad for the full duration and paying attention when you’re intended video starts for paying attention waiting for the “Skip Ad” button.

Does your partners camera have removable/interchangeable lenses?

If you did buy a cheap DSLR/Mirrorless camera (personally I’d also recommend Canon, but that’s because it’s what I use), then look into geting a lens mount adaptor for any old film camera lenses you may have, or look for lenses at charity shops/eBay/flea markets.

It’s a very cosy effective way to get into the hobby, it takes a little bit of practice for getting used to adjusting the settings/focus etc, but nothing too difficult. And old lenses can give some beautiful effects on the images; Japanese lenses are near identical, old soviet lenses give a beautiful patena.

Another final point to consider is Mirrorless cameras are so much lighter than older DSLRs, to the extent that I carry my camera so much more after buying a Mirrorless than I ever did with a DSLR, OTOH if it’s just for setting up somewhere birdwatching, weight shouldn’t matter so much.

You can also get lens mount adaptors to fit onto telescope/microscope eye pieces

Both on steamdeck using an SD card formatted to NTFS, and on a manjaro/windows dual boot with an NTFS shared drive…

Huh, I’ve had the exact thing you describe from handling pumpkin vines before (which were incidently grown on a wire floating in the air)

I’d only ever come across it for COVID tests, the only pregnancy tests I’ve interacted with/seen advertised have been the stick versions.

The UK COVID test were all using this plastic moulding (minus the embossed letters) and I’ve never seen a pregnancy test that wasn’t a stick that you pee on?

And if you’re aware that it says hCG (which I admittedly missed before commenting), then I think you answered your own question…
