I haven’t used it myself, but I hear Bazzite provides an experience similar to SteamOS. Note that some competitive online games with kernel-level anti-cheat won’t work on Linux. Most other games should run fine, though.

You should check out Audit the Audit. They’re largely focussed on covering police misconduct, but they’re also not afraid of occasionally criticizing those interacting with cops. Every episode comes with a thorough analysis of the legal subtleties involved.
Should’ve stayed on the bus. Never let them know their disguise doesn’t work on you. Now they might be coming after anon.
I could take or leave tofu, but I really like tempeh.
There are some large, internationally oriented companies where you can get by speaking only English. I’ve also seen more than one tech company hire programmers that don’t speak Dutch. So it depends on the industry.
If you want to get some perspectives from Americans living in the Netherlands, you could check out Itz Sky’s and Jordan Green’s channels on YouTube.
Things aren’t much better in The Netherlands. The PVV is part of the government now. The good news is that having to form a coalition with other parties, seems to have reigned in some of their worst tendencies. Also, their minister of immigration is a total nitwit that can’t get any sort of actual policy implemented. If they keep failing to make any kind of progress on this issue, hopefully they won’t do as well in the next election.
The party is called the PVV. Their racism is mostly aimed at Muslims, but they’re not a big fan of most other groups of immigrants either. Highly educated expats with a work visa largely get a pass, though I think there are some plans to limit their benefits.
The Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia have all those things and people tend to speak English really well.

Windows 2000 was pretty good.

“The Norden”, a documentary series that looks at the Nordic countries from the perspective of outsiders, has a very interesting episode comparing American police to those in the Nordic countries. American police gets less training and it is indeed mostly focused on spotting and neutralising potential threats.

I think there should be. Gemini gave me a really good giggle when I asked it to write a short story about what would happen if cops and courts started interpreting the law the same way sovereign citizens do.
Just pick up your laptop and rotate it to whatever angle you want.

Before going to America, many puritans migrated to The Netherlands. They left for America because they didn’t just want freedom of religion, they wanted freedom from secularism. I guess some things never change.
In The Netherlands I’ve heard opinions ranging from “Every citizen is Dutch” to “You’re Dutch if you embrace our values” to “You’re Dutch if you speak Dutch at home”.

You are technically correct, the best kind of correct!
I think it’s too early to say how this will impact the polls. A lot of people are still processing what happened. Blowing up the government over immigration didn’t work out great for the VVD (liberal right), but perhaps Wilders’ party will fare better.
It was the protest vote that won the PVV (Wilders’ party) the last election and the BBB (farmers’ party) the Eerste Kamer (Senate) elections before that. Now that the PVV and the BBB have been in the government and achieved basically nothing, those voters are more likely to vote for left-leaning parties or stay home.
If Wilders can push the narrative that the rest of the coalition forced his hand by blocking his immigration policies, perhaps he can win the election. However, considering that even the FvD was criticizing Wilders today that might be a tall order, even in the alt-right bubble.
If Groen Links/PVDA (green/labour alliance) can convince protest voters that the solution to their problems is to tax the rich and invest that money in social programs and environmental policies, maybe they can win the elections.
(Winning the elections in this context means becoming the largest party. Nobody ever gets an absolute majority.)
