I would expect that most people who would be foreclosed on could avoid it by selling in the current market. Prices are up so I think the vase majority would clear enough to pay off that mortgage and avoid being foreclosed on.

I’ve been thinking about this lately being that we live in Oregon and are already having major wildfires so early in the season. I found this Interactive map showing what the climate in different cities might look like in 60 years.

I gave my 22 year old daughter Quit Like a Millionaire by Kristy Shen and she loved it. It’s written in a really accessible and relatable way for a young person. Lol she now wants to live with us as long as she can to save money and is now pursuing a tech career.

Thanks!! We already spend most of our time off tramping around the Pacific Northwest in our camper van and mostly camp at free sites. Thanks for the heads up on Campendium. I haven’t tired that one before and will check it out.

We just hit our FIRE goal last month!! I have a paid sabbatical planned September through October this year and then plan to give notice when I return. We plan on selling our house and most of our stuff and take off in our camper van roaming around the U.S. If we like a place and want to stay for a while, we'll find a place to rent for a month or so. When we feel like Covid has settled down enough elsewhere, we'll head overseas and plan on being nomadic and slow traveling in other countries, with stints of van life here, until we want to stop - assuming that will happen eventually. In the meantime, we hope to find our future forever place along the way. Our budget will be 8.5K per month, but that also includes helping my mom out by splitting the cost of an apartment for her + expenses with my brother.

Most, if not all, health insurance policies that are available in each state marketplace on healthcare.gov tend to be HMOs which only work in that state -- not nationwide. I've read that it may be possible to pay for a Kaiser Permanente policy if you live on the west coast that would work across all the west coast states that have Kaiser, but I'm not sure about that. I would suggest looking to see if there are any similar HMO organizations on the east coast that work across state lines. That won't get you national coverage though. The other options are to purchase a private policy that will work nationwide or go with a marketplace policy that only works in your state and supplement with traveler's insurance that includes medical -- if that would cover you in the U.S. You'd have to look to see what/where the travel policy would cover you.

Check out Gearhead Garage in Tigard. You can rent garage space for working on a vehicle. Something like that might work for you.
