I have the continental dws06 on the stock Austin wheels. It was night and day difference compared to stock. Better grip, better turn in, more responsive overall. Not as grippy as a dedicated summer tire so you’ll still get some spin if you dump it from a stop in first gear but the overall handling, road comfort, and wet traction is great. I have no issues with them at all.

The 8 inch riser with 1.5 pullback should be good for what you want with the stock bar. I would suggest keeping it under 10 inches of rise and around 1.5-2 of pullback for your height on stock bars

You’re getting downvoted but your premise is correct. All you’re saying is without a lot of seat time you don’t know your skill ceiling and shouldn’t be pushing the limits. 5k miles a year is a 2 hour ride each Sunday. It’s not even a lot. Not sure how that’s gatekeeping or whatever…. it’s just a reasonable baseline for keeping your skills up.

I got the version one pro jazz bass about 2-3 years ago. It was very well built and sounded great. Unless it didn’t have a specific feature you wanted like active or noiseless then I really don’t see a “need” to upgrade ever. Seems like the kind of quintessential “vanilla” take on a jazz bass, high quality, would last for life if taken care of. No experience with MIM basses from that era but I recommend the American Pro

While I can do a full day ride on the LRS, if big miles and long days are what you’re after you may want to look at the touring line. Or at least a nice touring seat you can throw on the low rider for the longer rides. The good news if you can customize just about anything on your bike so if it’s just a couple things bothering you, it’s rather easy to swap out the bits you don’t like and customize your low rider into the perfect bike for you. Good luck either way!

Been seeing your posts for the last couple weeks across most of the riding subs asking about trading for other models, buyers remorse, etc. so apologies if I come across as blunt but I really think you’re overthinking it and need to just enjoy your LRS. Bikes like the sport glide, slim, etc have the same rear shock as your low rider. The only softails with more travel are the heritage and the fat bob. If you want a ton of rear travel stock you won’t get that on any Harley. You can either swap your suspension with an OEM heritage shock which should slide right in an give a 1 inch lift, or choose from the various aftermarket options.
As far as trading for a sport glide, the riser and bar position on the sport glide isn’t a world different from the LRS stock. If you want high or pullback risers you’ll end up doing it on either. Fairing wise, the stock sport glide fairing sucks, barely does anything, and certainly isn’t an improvement over the low rider s fairing in the sense they’re both more for looks than function.
If you want cruise control, forwards and bags you can do that for like $1,200 on your LRS and call it the day. My suggestion is do that and enjoy the ride. The other softail models aren’t going to offer you what you’re looking for from the factory aside from maybe the Heritage since it has the bags, longer travel, windshield, cruise control, and floorboards.

“Just one more play to get my money back” is what everyone says as they burn through the little they have left. Sounds like you’re in a revenge trading spiral and most of the time it doesn’t work out. Be safe and good luck

I went with the magnum shielding kit when I installed the thrashin 9.5 risers. The quality of the cables are nice, but I would have been better off buying specific length cables rather than the generic 12-14 inch rise kit because there is extra length in the clutch and upper brake lines that don’t need to be there. If I could do it all again I would installed the risers, measured, and have bought all the exact lengths rather than going for a kit

The x ultra seems a bit different from the AO in the sense that instead of blending 2 distortions it uses a low pass and high pass to blend in clean lows with the distortion. But I see where you’re coming from

Yea for real.. the comment section on this post is so depressing. The guy is going to buy his dream new bike and all the comments are telling him to trailer it home.... just ride it home, vary the rpms and don’t rev it past the recommended break in rpm and it’s fine. I wonder if half the people in these comments even ride.

A 1x12 isn’t enough for open air gigs in my experience (depending on the band, but in general). I have the 104 HR with little mark 800 and it’s great for what you’re looking for. Ive done shows with a 1x12 and inside it’s fine but it can’t move enough air outside without PA support.

Jochen’s plan always was to spin off live wire into its own division so they can be quicker to market without all the red tape of corporate and have their own management. The vision always has been moving into electric urban mobility with the scooter and other concepts which have been leaked. These small electric urban scooters/bikes/etc don’t align with the traditionalist harley brand image so it works for everyone to have it as a standalone subsidiary.

SHOP and AMZN are not comps for GME even if/when they pivot to the e-commerce vision. Aws is the backbone of the internet as we know it and Amazon is a lot more than a shopping site. Shopify isn’t a retailer either. They currently compare to something like BBY and if they do pivot to e-commerce you could compare them to chewy (4x revenue) if you like. I wish you luck.

You believe game stop is worth 200B?? They are a retailer. They do not create, invent, or innovate. They have no product. Their revenues are 5 billion annually and have been shrinking for a decade. And they lose money every quarter for the past 3 year. Yet you think they are worth 200B? 40x revenue? Using any relevant metric compared to comparable brick and mortal retailers they’re worth a few billion and that’s it.

Sportsters are great. They’re basically the same they’ve been since the 50s. It’s a classic and there are tons of people who love them. They’re great for shorter rides and running around town, etc. You mentioned wanting to go on longer rides which is why I suggested maybe going one size bigger and looking at the softail or dyna platforms. The frames and engine is a little larger. If you are dead set on a sportster you can still tour. There are people who go cross country on them, it’s just a little less comfy for a long haul ride
