I found out from a friend who’s a DJ, heaps of people go to them. Lots of 16 year olds too which ruins it a bit but it’s generally a good buzz.

I honestly don’t have the numbers but I work in sustainability and read it like a year ago, buuut I did only see like one thing about it so maybe it’s bullshit. I would say though that because it requires materials that are common in tech like phones then reuse is likely but again I’ve no literature to back that up. That’s pretty sick about being able to use spent nuclear fuel, I had no idea. I think nuclear output of energy is unmatched but to me I’m just cautious of it due to Fukushima. I do see the benefits though.

nah they're illegal, the one in blackford quarry is off for the time being because someone got hurt at one of them but every Saturday there should be one at sea field going until 6am

Yeah I thought I mentioned that the materials for solar panels are more and more so being obtained from recycled products. I do agree that a combination is necessary because there are locations where solar obviously wouldn't be able to produce that much energy, but I still prefer renewables over nucear.

3 million is 3.61% of Germany's 83.02m population. If you don't care then at least try not to make an ass of yourself.
edited to reflect working population at 75%, so if original claim of 3 million in Germany is true then it's 4.82% of the workers with two jobs

Do people wear masks outside where you’re from? I know they do in China but where I’m from in Western Europe nobody wears masks outside, only in enclosed spaces

Yeah this is true, my mindset is why even take that minimal risk when we have solar. We have to mine uranium which damages the environment but we do have limitless power with the sun. Nuclear energy wouldn’t be suitable in places that are vulnerable to seismic activity as well because of potential structural damage. I do fully get your point that worse things are allowed but we should be building a future which opts for the lowest chance of incident given that we can achieve the same goal with both.

I dont understand why you want nuclear, even a slight chance of disaster would be awful. You still need to mine for the uranium too. Solar power is literally limitless and the panels can be made from recycled materials.

essentially, still a huge accident could happen even if it's 0.001% chance and the damage would be huge.

COMMENT 6d ago
What about the waste and the fact that it requires the mining of uranium?
