If I were looking for a place to move, I’d want the % to be lower. I’m going to call it the Schmigadoon factor.

My guess is that the high Schmigadoon % places would have more xenophobia/nepotism, and less flexible social norms and ways of doing things. As a newcomer, you want to live in a place where people are used to seeing a wide variety of people come-and-go. Poland must be like living in Schmiggadoon itself. Open to debate if I’m completely wrong on this.

I honestly hate this BS. Idiots texting is a fact of life. People using their phone as a GPS or whatever karaoke-phone-stuff your friend was doing shouldn’t be targeted under the guise of safety. Frankly, how the hell can a cop in another vehicle, who’s attention is split driving his own car, make a reliable decision about what a person is doing based on glancing in the window of another vehicle. None of this should hold up in traffic court without a video unequivocally proving that the person was actually texting (as in, high enough quality that I should be able to see what app is open at least). This kind of surveillance is NOT going to stop the unsafe behaviour, and guaranteed they’re going to nail law-abiding people at least half the time.

I feel like the Wallet app probably wants to BE Mint and YNAB eventually. It’s not like Apple doesn’t tolerate third parties sometimes before they decide to consume them like a hungry dragon, but I’d expect to see the ability to manage everything on the Wallet app within a year.

Grad school teaches us that aphasia is this massive percentage of caseload in rehab, and glosses over other neurological conditions. Guys - dementia — HELLO?! There is a pretty clear division between adult and pediatric, but the in vast majority of positions, you’ll be treating whoever walks or rolls in the door.

SNFs actively seek CFYs for the cheap labor (“oh, you’re an ‘intern’? Here’s 25 bucks an hour”). It’s deplorable that ASHA lets that happen, but it could be your foot in the door. The catch is that they need to be able to provide supervision (another hurdle that OTs and PTs don’t have to deal with) - though ASHA has apparently loosened up on tele-supervision, so there’s that!

Well you need money to do it. Start by convincing 1/4 of those SLPs (who don’t require current CCCs for their licensure or employment, and that’s most people) to donate $225 (the amount that equivalent OT organization charges) to your Union fund instead of ASHA.
