I spent 20 years there, I split time with my divorced parents, one just outside of Cary and the other a stone's throw from Brent Rd. I went to the public school in the inner city. It's come along way since the 90s, but it will never be progressive. The real problem in the area is that everyone who lives there thinks it's the greatest place to live in the world. Most have never been anywhere else, except for the OBX and maybe Greenville.

Raleigh is great if you want to send Braxton to soccer practice at CASL and forget the rest of society has insurmountable problems. Those bojangles chicken biscuits tho... amiright?

I grew up in Raleigh, lived in Austin for the past decade and recently thought about moving to Asheville last year. After visiting last summer, I can honestly say, y'all are more fucked than Austin is. So I moved back to Texas.

I just lived close to this part of North Carolina last year. I had a job, did it, and left as soon as I could. This part of the state is hopeless. Everyone in their right mind is either in Asheville or Charlotte and the median age is somewhere around 65. Cawthorn ain't going anywhere unless it's in cuffs.

Technically he "did" drain the swamp. Now we just get to see all the creatures that were hiding underneath break the laws in plain view.

He doesn't care. He's not running again. It's not about "the filibuster" it's about who he gets to profit from once he's out of office. This has nothing to do with ethics.

We'll both enjoy it when the Dems fail to pass voter reform. It's completely unavoidable, and I voited straight D ticket. I'm tired of being bullied into voting for shitty candidates that don't represent me. That's not how you win people over.

All they have to do is legalize weed. It's the most popular legislation like ever. And we'd all jump on board the D train for the rest of our lives.

It's working pretty goddamn well for the Republicans. You're still missing the point. We progressives DON'T CARE anymore. I have never seen any sort of meaningful legislation since I was born in the 80s. And the ACA doesn't count, because as a healthy young adult, it costs me more money and I still can't afford insurance a decade later. The earth is beyond saving. Democracy will crumble when the GOP ratfucks the '22 election on the State level. Texas, where I live, just passed open carry for EVERYONE, no license required. The West Coast is on fire. And I'm likely going to be speaking Russian or Chinese in the next 20 years.
And the Dems are fighting about a some technicalities of the filibuster. Wake me up for season 2.

It’s not though. I’m almost 40 and I still don’t have insurance. I don’t have kids, so at this point, the earth can go fuck itself when I’m dead. I don’t care about slowly moving progress that might come to fruition when I’m fucking 80. And then call me a monster when I don’t vote for corporate schillary. Y’all still don’t get it. Give us what we want or have fun in your fascist dictatorship. Some of us feel like we’ve been living in one our entire lives. Something’s going to kill me, whether it’s COVID or a bridge collapsing, or a mass shooting. And they can’t be bothered to pass gas for $200k/yr.

Honestly it's almost impossible. Every state has different election systems/computers/rules. You wouldn't be able to organize an attack that specific without drumming up a bunch of attention. I'm talking hacking to the point of hundreds of votes in very specific counties. The Russian's are phenomenal hackers, but it's a lot.

I'm sure the other 48 democrats are happier than a pig in shit not having to vote on anything though...

There was nothing unintentional about Obamacare. It was designed to be an insurance grab before the system collapses in 20 years.
