I understand your confusion, the issue is that it appears you've yet to realize that you're only able to experience the world through the limitations of your physical being. Therefore, you fail to see that you, like myself and everyone else, lack a point of reference for anything else.

No one can know certain things other than how their own brains are processing information and delivering that result to them. We're at the mercy of it. You're not two people, are you? You can't go back into the past and do controlled, unbiased experiments as another being with completely different sensory and cognitive development, right? Therefore you will only know reality as you perceive it.

However, you once again misinterpret what I am saying. When I say physical reality is chaos, I mean to our senses. The universe is indifferent to consciousness and sentience, it is only under those constructs we create or don't create the significance of anything. Information without a way to decipher that information is chaos. It's only because physicists spent so much time and energy creating the language and concepts behind quantum physics that we can ascertain the patterns that exist within them. Just like barcodes are chaos until a computer is programmed to interpret them a particular way.

It's like going to another country where you don't speak the language, it sounds like chaos when others speak. That's the physical world, it's both chaos to the senses and order to the brain. It's only after time though and pattern recognition that order can be derived from the senses and processed by the brain.

You can feed random signals to a television but only specific signals in a specific order can be interpreted as a movie. That's because the processor has been developed to interpret those signals as pixels of color. If you feed it just anything, it's just chaos and it took painstaking time and effort for the creator of the processor to dial in exactly what signals would no longer be random but turn into the familiar pixels of a human or a tree. Or own senses and brain are really no different, extrapolating the abstract and recognizing patterns within to create what we experience as reality all the time.

Sorry, I suspect you misinterpreted what I said.

My whole point was that it's not your interaction with atoms, it's your brain's interpretation of that interaction and subsequent creation of your entire sensory experience that constitutes the reality you perceive.

It's like atoms are just an arbitrary barcode and your senses are a barcode scanner but it's your brain that is the hardware and software responsible for assigning and utilizing the basic information it receives to create everything you know as familiar reality.

Reality as you know it only exists that way in your brain. The physical world is basically chaos and our brains sort that chaos into the order we take for granted as reality.

This is devastating. He was such a great actor. I was crushed by his character's death in The Wire but this is so much harder to accept. RIP

However, you're not actually "smelling" those volatile compounds. They are just particles of matter that has no inherent "scent" which are captured by our olfactory glands and then depending on what they are relatively comprised of compared to other particles with differing attributes and properties, electrical signals are sent to our brains and it's our brain that creates the "scent" we sense based on that data it interprets, the same as all of our senses including the sensation of "heat". Colors are just due to how wavelengths of light interact with our eyes but they only really exist as we know them because of the way our brains ultimately display them to us based on the electrical signals it receives. Reality is all a grand illusion being created constantly by our brains.

Danny. If you have 8 arms you can punch 3 other guys simultaneously while providing the rhythmic soundtrack and making a victory sandwich too

I forgot how true this is, the phone I've had for the last 4+ years has a cool feature that slowly increases the alarm volume and I've always used its built-in chirping birds alarm. No more hating my favorite songs, now I just hate birds

Wow haha I never would've thought of that! I've never used a dating site or service before so I'm not sure how I would approach that but it's another potential arrow in the quiver and I appreciate it

Thanks and yeah that's definitely the vibe I'm trying to avoid putting out there. It is pretty easy out here, as I said in my main post these things have always "found me", I've never had to seek them out before and it's pretty much entirely due to making friends with people that smoked and that opening other doors, so to speak. Now I have no ability to make these friends because I literally can't smoke without getting violently ill. I have $30k worth of hospital bills already following me around and haunting me. Everything is like a catch-22 basically.

I used cannabis mostly because of epilepsy so I can't drive so that makes music festivals very difficult to attend. On top of that, I get sick get from breathing in second hand smoke now which would be all over the place at such festivals, especially with my state being a legal cannabis state.

Thanks that's not a bad idea, there's a vape shop right by me but I just feel a little odd not having a reason to buy anything there? I'd just be hanging around and having to lie about not being able to use cannabis or something? I wish I could just smoke again, I'd have a connect in no time I'm sure if I did but not being able to just makes me look sketchy AF I'm sure

Thanks yeah that's true I guess I'm just concerned/paranoid nonetheless. I also run a fan all night at night for white noise after having it in my window for a while to cool the room down, it's the only way I can barely sleep now that I don't have cannabis helping me there and I'm concerned about contamination from the constant moving air, having a dog, the smells that might come from the closet, etc. It's a very small closet and not very ideal for such a thing but if I can't find help any other way it might be the only option. Thanks again

Yeah my bad I tried to simplify that but while I want to grow I don't have the right environment for it currently and that won't change for another year. So I'm looking for advice how to find like minded allies in a college town that could help me out but since I can't smoke pot anymore it's making it really hard to prove that I'm cool, does that make sense?

I don't want to just ask random people for risk of myself and because I feel like that's a huge red flag to others with no context or like "oh this dude smokes he's cool" there to help me like it always did in the past?

Hah thanks yeah that is my concern though, like I said most of these kids are in a hurry to their classes and jobs most of the time and the nights they are partying they are all preoccupied with themselves and drinking and smoking pot and I have to stay away from even the second hand smoke now. I would literally have to just walk up to some random kid and ask "Hey stranger, do you know where I can find [something illegal]?" and that strikes me as a huge risk of coming off like, as I mentioned, the Steve Buscemi meme.

I fortunately look very young but I still feel like such a question needs to come up organically, like when you're talking to someone about unrelated things and the topic naturally arrives there through a series of back and forths neither party could control. Otherwise it just raises red flags with people who don't know if you're "cool". And that organic opportunity has only come up once in the 2 months I've lived here, it would seem contrived if I tried to worm it into a conversation otherwise considering most of the times I talk to anyone only lasts a couple minutes while I am walking my dog or something.
