Essentially that Berkowitz worked with two others, brothers John and Michael Carr. Their father's name was Sam. One of the shootings that Berkowitz claimed John did, the witness description of the shooter was of a guy who looked like John, who was blonde and nothing like Berkowitz. John was never investigated and he was murdered 6 months after Berkowitz was arrested, Michael died in a car accident a year after that.

Here's a bit more info that was in the documentary. Basically, if you discard the cult idea/conspiracy and look at it more like 3 guys who were kinda edgy and called themselves a cult, it makes sense, at least to me.

I thought the idea of other people being involved was credible, but the Satanic Panic stuff coloured the detective's view to the point that it wasn't taken seriously. He wound up connecting things that weren't connected, and the possibility of other killers got lost in the nonsense.

He did. I watched the Netflix documentary behind it and tbh it was pretty interesting. While I don't believe in the satanic cult stuff the guy believed went on behind SoS, I do think there were more people involved than Berkowitz.
