The way I improved the most is by painting different stuff, different color schemes, techniques etc... find a mini you don’t really care about and go wild. If it sucks, strip it and start over.

I’ve been lucky with priming so far (knocking on wood right now)

But to be fair I do a lot of priming by hand with two thin coats of this primer and a zenithal spray with a can of Scale 75 white spray primer.

Imo priming by hand helps you reach every hidden spot of the mini better, but on a whole army it can be a bit time consuming.

Edit : I’ve had the Mig primer for a year and a half now and still have more than a third of the pot left.

Looks like you didn’t shake it long enough on the first one.

I shake my cans of primer until it doesn’t feel cold in my hand, roughly a minute or two and spray it in quick bursts.

They’re a similar texture as clams or squid. The most famous way to cook them is under the grill (in their shell), stuffed with a mixture of butter, garlic and parsley. It’s bloody delicious with some bread and red wine.

And chains, I don’t know why but rusty chains hanging here and there look really cool imo. You could also try cutting a gsc logo out of thin plasticard or cardboard and hang it with chains somewhere.

Objective markers kits are great, they have some tech and computer panels you can repurpose, so may want to look for those or some bits. Old audio cables, lollipop sticks, random lids etc make great details too, look around for junk there are some hidden gems everywhere.
