I'll try and keep this simple since it's a long story:

Brendan McCarthy, the co-writer for Fury Road, worked on ReBoot as principal designer. The ReBoot episode, Bad Bob, was done by McCarthy as a tribute to Mad Max because he was a super huge fan of the movies. At the time of the episode releasing, George Miller hadn't made a Mad Max movie for a while and was trying to get a Mad Max TV show off the ground (he tried this multiple times and obviously never got it to work). McCarthy, saddened by the lack of Mad Max media, sent a VHS copy of Bad Bob to Miller with a label saying "whatever happened to Max?" or something along the lines of that. Miller and McCarthy eventually got together and decided to try and make a new Mad Max movie because of this VHS copy of a ReBoot episode convincing George Miller to do more Mad Max stuff. And after over a decade in development hell, the masterpiece Fury Road finally released. Without ReBoot we wouldn't have arguably one of the best movies ever made.

If you look deep enough into the lore of the Half-Life games you'll realise how fucked the Half-Life universe is. Headcrab zombies still being conscious, the suppression field, a large amount of the old earth knowledge and it's flora and fauna being extinct (Alyx Vance doesn't even understand what the ingredients of a club sandwich actually are, which is depressing when you think about it) whatever the fuck the G-Man is, etc etc
