OpenAI’s DotA 2 experiment was quite interesting. A bot with very basic instruction settings such as “taking damage is bad”/“dying is bad” etc. could literally beat all top players after gathering data from thousands of games kinda makes me think although a person can’t play and learn from multiple games simultaneously and can’t collect and analyse data as effectively as an AI but given enough time, the person will eventually advance to a higher level. Of course there’s the “human” limitations and whatnot but I guess what I’m trying to say is by following simple tips and just pour time into it, you’ll “figure it out” sooner or later.

From what you wrote I think you might be watching too much montages. Keep in mind those aren’t your average gameplay, otherwise they’d all be 5k sr.
