Butt stalliom says hello

One of the best things I've learned with my wife is that sometimes, talking more will just make us madder at each other. I've stopped before and told her "I love you more than this fight" and then walked away. I'll come back when we've both calmed down.

Once I can get the jab for my daughter, I'm going to stop worrying about it. There are a bunch of people who seem to want this to go on forever.

We even had the hardware in place and recommended a solution such as “if 10 passwords are attempted in the first 3 seconds. Make the end user wait 10 seconds”

That seems so easy to implement. My brokerage app works that way, I think it tells me to come back later after five attempts.

Is it tobacco or nicotine that stains teeth and rots your jaw when you chew it?

"Buh what about when democrats supported slavery 150 years ago?"

More whataboutism from the right.

Absolutely zero right wingers want gun control.

"Take the guns first, due process second" Who was it that said that again?

This sounds like an excellent cast of shitty dealer. I'd take my money elsewhere.

Surprised Oklahoma wasn't on there. My neices' mom died week before last, because there wasn't ICU space, and they had to try and fly her to Texas.

What's fun is when you find yourself wandering around in the factory that Stoned Pioneer built last night trying to figure out what you were trying to do.

As someone who drives over pothole filled roads every day, I don't know why I didn't consider the fact there wouldn't be water for a freeze/thaw cycle.

You're probably correct about rail. Not only would a train be much easier to automate, but they use less energy to move in the first place.

My favorites so far is eitehr the shinko 700's or 705s. If I'm just commuting and doing light trails/gravel roads on it, the 705's are amazing. For mud and rocks and things I shouldn't be riding a DR650 in, the 700's are better.

COMMENT 2d ago

It's been my experience that my DR650 eats rear tires. 5k is about all I could hope for, be it a cheap Shinko or a $200 Metzler. The T-63 I have on it now has been holding up OK, but I think it will be done before the next oil change.

I wonder if roads would hold up better on the moon due to the fact that vehicles weigh less. Of course there's the probability that they'd make any vehicles bigger to carry more, thus erasing any benefit.

Heavier vehicles cause exponentially more wear on roads here on Earth, so a vehicle weighing 1/6 as much because of lunar gravity could make a big difference.

if the stuff from 15cm deep is just as useful as the stuff from 15mm deep

That's an interesting question. I assume that any rock that is an oxide would work for this, like silicon dioxide or aluminum oxide.

Because I'm not altogether sober and I have a tendency to go down wikipedia rabbit holes, I've found that about 70% of the rocks on the lunar surface are oxides of either silicon or aluminum, so it seems like they could just mine from one spot and get all the oxygen they want.

Could a real geologist chime in and learn me about minerals? I feel like I've done a "I'vE dOnE My ReSeArCh AbOuT CoViD" level of reading on rocks and I want to know what I don't know.

I wonder what what we can melt in order to keep breathing....

The better question is, what can we set on fire to keep breathing.

2

COMMENT 2d ago

You'll save so much money doing this.

The 705 is a good choice, I had one on the front and it held up for 12,000 miles it seemed.

I bet that stuff lit right up!

Ok, that's pretty amazing. I like how portable that is.

I remembered reading about this somewhere, and the next time I almost got carried off by mosquitoes I gave it a shot... I used a spoon and a candle, and it took a bit to get the temperature correct but it actually worked.

That was my first thought upon reading "meat tenderizer", I'd always heard it used on jellyfish stings.

Thankfully, I never got stung by one when I lived on the east coast.
