You have the leeway to refuse rentals to a customer who informs you that they are going to use a tool in a way that is harmful. If they say they want to use a gas operated machine in an indoor space, do not give it to them. When some idiot sues Home Depot because they weren't told to not rent a kerosene heater for use in their bedroom and they accidentally kill their entire family, that's your ass.

I sometimes find myself thinking about the various ways I could kill myself in each department and fantasizing about which associates I would prefer to find my body.

Do you understand what it takes to be a customer on this sub and not get downvoted into oblivion?

An expression of empathy. Who would have thought? You might be superhuman.

Next time just say "Ma'am, god don't got the stones step into my house" and then moonwalk to the breakroom.

Whenever they start thinking out loud on the phone, I hang up.

There's a legendary story at my store about a dude who worked in doors and windows and was fired for looking at trans porn on the job. Apparently he absentmindedly left it up on the screen and walked away.

I once had a customer apologize to me for his wife being a cunt during heated interaction earlier in the day.

I was gonna say thanks, but then I was like wait a minute, you just called your own wife a cunt. I wasn't even thinking anything that vulgar. LOL

"Ok but thats not what other guy said."

The other guy is my department supervisor and he doesn't break the rules for shit, so I know you're lying.

It was down at my store too for the last half of the day. I had fun turning customers away because I refuse to do manual paper contracts and since I gotta work alone during a pandemic on a weekend after a natural disaster, fuck you.

Happens 3-4 times a year probably.

I clocked out in the middle of a conversation with a customer who walked in at 7:58pm. This weekend was brutal and I just needed to go.

LMAO

This is genius.

COMMENT 3d ago

I agree with this. But, I also happen to really like and appreciate my coworkers despite how shitty the company is, so I still feel bad for leaving them hanging.

Customer called me an asshole and THEN demanded to speak to a manager.
