My understanding was the difference in time between the first marble landing and the last marble landing.

I remember a show called Seven Days, which was a 'problem of the week' style show where the main character had to take a time machine back... seven days, in order to solve that episode's problem, usually in the nick of time.

Things usually went horribly wrong piloting the time machine, of course, like one time when he arrived back in the past it created an evil clone of him, or another time he arrived back in the past dead and nobody could see or hear his ghost, except for a random blind man that could hear him.

I think there were also aliens? It's been a while.
