I feel like it makes sense. Eugene jobs seem to be way below the population density.

Hmmm I know a few people now who moved to Seattle to get an SDE... I was initially resisting but it looks like I have to.
Thanks for the info!

I'm going on a month+, though my 2.0 equivalent is going to an 'Online School'.
Did you cram a lot of leetcode?
Also what are you do you live in?
I'm not in a massive 'Tech area' and I'm wondering if that is basically a requirement at this point.

Do much hate on Dutch Bros, but I've never see one without a huge line. They must be doing something right. I plan to buy in pretty heavily.

After over 100 resumes and one failed assessment, I am very close to calling it quits and just applying to any job that will have me. I needed this post.

Same here! I have absolutely no idea if I am good, or bad. All I've compared myself is against reddit posts which makes me think I am terrible.

I am actually looking to switch career paths - I have 9 years of IT Support. I'm trying to switch to Dev and just finished a Software Degree. I don't think the Support experience helps much, so I consider myself a new grad.
I have trouble thinking of projects to do. I have web scrapers and an android app that keeps track of my plant watering schedule (basically a timer) and of course the standard projects from college. I don't regard those as really interesting enough to add to a resume though.
I'm currently working towards the Dev AWS cert. I'm not sure if that will help me, but it's nice to understand why AWS is so popular.
Eventually I plan to look for opensource projects to work on, since I can't think of any self projects, plus it would be nice to understand collaboration methods on a project. Everything I've done so far has been solo.
Also leetcode of course. There's just so much to do.

As someone who graduated a month ago, I am having zero luck job searching. Everyone seems to want experience, or has relations with local colleges for anything entry level ( I went online school). Any tips?

That's awesome!
That will help a lot. If I had previously known programming fundamentals, I could have gone a LOT faster in the degree path.

I honestly don't really mind where I end up.. as long as I end up somewhere that actually relates to my field, and the secondary objective, of a position that increased my knowledge and helps me build myself as a better programmer.
(so maybe not legacy development, lol)

I went the Java route.
For me it was the project work. Specifically Android development first then Software I.
I come from an IT background without much programming experience. So it took me a lot of time to figure out the IDE, nuances of the language, and how programming even worked. In example, I did not even know what constructors, getters, or setters were.
The Android app class took me a while as well since it has a lot of concepts that I had to learn.

I am hoping to get something on the backend as I prefer that to frontend dev. However, I plan to see where life takes me career-wise.

It's a mix of the two from your edit.
People in Eugene are looking for remote jobs because there isn't enough jobs in-city for the population, and people with remote jobs are moving to Eugene.
So they are driving up housing prices, but also helping the local economy.
