Tesla workers make more than their unionized counterparts because they each get stock based compensation.
How about those Tesla workers that were hired in this year? Tesla stock is down significantly since January.
Seems like a cop out response to point out stock compensation when Tesla stock has risen 1700% in the past 5 years. Tesla evangelicals may claim the stock will rise another 1700% in the next 5 years, but I think the reality will be much different.

It discriminates against Tesla and VW
So what, Tesla made their assembly line employees work during Covid when every other automaker shutdown their assembly plants. Tesla under-pays and overworks their workers in high cost of living California. None of these would be a problem if Tesla workers unionized.

You are being downvoted, but you are right. ICE supercars still have significant advantages over BEVs that cannot be overlooked.

ICE Ferraris that sell at high prices won't sell in enough volume to make a significant impact on the environment. Why be unnecessarily authoritarian with what private individuals can build, sell, and buy if we don't have to?
Why limit technologies that can be researched, developed, and sold just because they are expensive?
Finally someone else had an interesting point. Supercars owners expect performance. Would people expect Ferrari to replace batteries every 20k miles or so because of performance degradation? Is the company really being more sustainable by making EVs? How much CO2 does it cost to make a new battery every 20k miles for the lifetime of the Ferrari verse how much CO2 would building and using one ICE Ferrari cost?

Why are rich people allowed to be car enthusiasts while the poor cannot?
Cry more. I currently cannot afford a new Ferrari today. You don't hear people complaining that Ferrari's today should be illegal or canceled because only the rich can buy them.
It's either ban everything or don't imo.
People who believe everything should be black and white deserve no respect.
I'm aware of the irony
One rule for the poor, no rules for the rich huh.
The rules are the same for everyone. Are you mad that you now have to pay 2 million for new Ferrari instead of 1 million? Ferrari's have always been for the rich.
The user above you is right, ICE Ferrari's sold at high prices won't sell in enough volume to make a significant impact on the environment. Why be unnecessarily authoritarian with what private individuals can build, sell, and buy if we don't have to?

BEVs have a bad overheating problem. You cannot run a BEV with the same performance for 10 laps straight whereas an ICE will do 10 laps at the same performance no problem.

You are totally right, but the freefolk will never admit it. Apparently the people in that sub are upset Daenerys went mad at the end when like the whole show starting from season 1 basically foreshadowed that plot point.

These people are scamming millions of Americans. Seems like the CIA should be protecting us. I'd bet these groups might think twice if a couple thousand people all over the globe end up dead.

True, that is why you get 3 or 4 lined up from different manufacturers and test them all out at once. When I did it, most of the time, they were all within 0.02 of each other. Every now and again, you would get 1 that had an absurd outlier number for 1 reason or another.

Lol- absolutely nobody is making $100k at 3 years at ford (which is chump change compared to FAANG companies like Amazon STARTInG people from umich undergrad business and CS school at $120k).
Well that is certainly not true considering I know a few people who are mechanical engineers that got themselves into electrical/software engineering roles at Ford. They are making the type of money that I described, bonuses and all. So 100k and almost 100% wfh in low cost of living Michigan or 120k and probably not wfh in high cost of living Seattle?

Yeah, I am not a fan of what u/Nebraska_Actually did there. Posting true statistics but without context. I have a breathalyzer in my car and at my house so I mess with it quite a bit (it's always a huge hit at parties). You get a sense for what 0.8 BAC vs. 1.2 vs 1.8 vs 2.x usually feels like. I'd like to see a curve with BAC on the x-axis and crashes or deaths on the y-axis.
Anyone know how that 0.8 number was derived to be the legal limit? Was it chosen based on some quantitative metrics or is it just some arbitrary number? Seems like it might be important if we are going to use it to cast down moral judgment on people as potential killers.

Idk, you can get a job that is entirely remote at one of the big 3 with a 401k match, great health, vision, and dental benefits, a yearly bonus of around 10k, and be making over 100k within 3 years.
That's obviously not Google money, but it isn't chump change either, especially compared to Tesla where you end up making the same base salary in high cost of living California.

Well this is a great question, I think the better question is why do police departments have enough money to buy, operate, and maintain a fucking plane? Sorry police officers, I don't think your job is worth that much.
I can understand helicopters and UAVs, but manned planes? There is no practical reason a police force would need a manned planed that a helicopter or UAV wouldn't solve.

COMMENT 6d ago
I think the whole point is that police departments shouldn't have enough money to be buying, operating, and maintaining planes. That money could be better spent elsewhere.

What's your end game? Zero covid. Let's ask nz and aus how that's going.
This, 100%. If you cannot provide a clear end goal and timeline for achieving that goal, then forgive me if I have a tough time giving up my freedoms and pursuit of happiness for an indefinite time period.
If you tell me that I need to stay inside for 1 year until X is achieved with quantifiable metrics, I might be inclined to listen.

Provide a clear end goal. You cannot tell people to give up their happiness and freedoms indefinitely. Provide an end goal and a concrete timeline and you might get more cooperation.

I mean Tesla sales numbers are still pretty small. Ford sells more F-150s alone in 1 year than all of Tesla vehicle sales combined in 1 year. Ford sells more vehicles in 1 year than Tesla has sold in their entire 18 year history.
People can talk sales growth rates all they want, but anyone can have high sales growth when starting from 0 or even 500k vehicles per year. Let's see what Tesla's sales growth looks like when they are selling 5 million vehicles per year.

I'm hoping Ford can use their 1 Rivian board member and their partnership with Rivian to get Rivian to unlock their chargers for Ford EVs.
I also wish Tesla would have never started this proprietary charging network trend in the first place. This is an awful experience for consumers. There is no Ford gas station and there never should have been one to begin with.

Ability to power your house. Until Tesla realizes that they have to take an L on their powerwall business, Ford will always have this advantage.

Turn off the vehicle and disconnect the 12v battery, wait a minute, reconnect the 12v battery. This will power cycle the control modules (including the one that has an active fault preventing your vehicle from starting). If the fault was only intermittent and not something serious, it should clear and your car should start.
If the above procedure doesn't work, it may be that you have a low 12v battery which would prevent the high voltage battery from creating a physical connection with your motors by closing relays, try charging the 12v battery and then try starting again.
If neither of these procedures work, you have a serious problem that needs a dealer to fix.

You made a decent point. I was talking about base pay not the added benefits but since you brought up the benefits, I felt the need to address the point. That's not changing my stance, it's expanding upon it with added context.
A king should never have to tell his subjects that he is a king. Shouting out that you have a business degree does nothing to help your argument, it only makes you look foolish.
You also own Tesla stock, so totally not biased at all here.
Well dang, better not go against these "highly rated analysts".
