Agreed that most millionaires are "self-made" in that they generated the capital themselves, whether by work or capital appreciation. The problem is the narrative that anyone can become a millionaire by just working hard, especially without taking into consideration the implicit biases that some people receive. Just look at Black/POC rates of becoming millionaires compared to white/asian rates. Then look at the average level of education, etc.

I will agree that working more will make them more money, getting them closer to that milestone. Without getting extremely lucky picking stocks or making a wild bet on something, I'd wager almost none of them would even have $5M at retirement. Much less $100M.
