I’d say a more accurate reason is, it would be inefficient to. Their suits are based around mobility and fire power. A Tau plasma rifle is going to do more damage than a power sword on their suits, and their flamers would be more effective against most close range groups.
Removing ranged fire power from their suits would limit their ranged capabilities, for a close range fight that would bog them down, negating the advantage of their suit‘a mobility.
It’s simple math. They’d give up two solid advantages, to be on par at best with others.
It’s more efficient to deny their enemies a fight that advantages them and focus on fighting in an area a that they’re strongest in.

Mine talks with a southern drawl and finger guns for eldritch blast. Doesn’t shout bang though… it’s amusing though, as all the other party members have actual pistols.

My issue isn’t with level 5, I think that’s more or less fine, it’s 11 and I guess 20(17 if compared to eldritch blasts), though that last one is less important.
Before level 11 it’s fine, IMO(beyond the pretty situational level ups), and that is where most of the game is played, but once the fighter starts matching and/or out pacing them in attacks it’s an issue. As that fighter weapon is more likely than not a larger damage die, and probably magical by 11.
Needing to use the ki for a single extra attack(and still having to use their bonus action for it too) is pretty sub optimal. Especially with some of those needing to be with the martial arts die and this not with a weapon and any abilities that comes with it if it’s magical.
The big advantage of stunning strike is that it can be applied to all hits. The problem though, is that it’s a con save, and too many big monsters are passing that save early on. No to mention that monks are torn between being able to attack better or have a higher dc (unless they are astral self, which is my preferred any way:p)
Honestly, the more I look at it, the more the monk seems on paper designed to be a wizard hunter, which is cool. But I don’t quite think they fulfill that role well enough as is, and I stick by that they need the extra attacks that the fighter gets, or maybe boost to flurry of blows, because the extra bit that’s there just isn’t enough at later levels.

The monk deserves fighting styles and extra attacks to keep up with the fighter’s. They also have a few levels that just don’t do enough, like 9 10, and 13 (which tend to be situational boosts that might be completely irrelevant depending on the DM)
I do feel like they are generally misunderstood in how they should be used, which I see as a mid line skirmished capable of circumventing the enemy front line to get to their back line. Though even then, rouges get similar movement abilities for free that cost monks Ki.

I do feel like more female guard would be a good place to start tbh.
Wouldn’t be terribly upset by female space marines, but I feel like that’s a pretty easy way to test the marketing waters and build a financial case one way or the other. If the female guard sell, there’s market data to support that the appetite is real. If they don’t, hard to really argue for upending lore for something that people aren’t really buying.
I also would just plain like female guard models because that’s a thing that should exist and fits with the lore.
More variations too. What I’m really saying is I want my Valhallan army lead by commissar Cain.

One potential use, unless I missed something in the description, is if you’re low on spell slots or want to up cast a high level spell attack. I don’t think there are many of those, but it could help ensure a spell slot doesn’t go to waste... assuming you can keep concentration up.

Really there should just be a separate skill for strength based acrobatics or something.
But, because there isn’t, you get situations where you look at the physical builds of a top tier mountain climber and (again) the top tier heavy weight wrestler. According to 5E, both are perfectly capable of transferring their skill sets to the other’s profession.
A lot easier to explain that difference by calling the climbing acrobatics instead.
Strength is involved, sure, but largely up to a point, once you can easily lift your body up, it matters a lot less and then it becomes a matter of constitution(exhaustion checks.)
So apply maluses based of your carrying/lift capacity if your equipment+body weight exceeds that amount, and constitution checks for exhaustion based on length.
Because that makes more sense than deciding that the wrestler can perfectly transfer that skill set to mountain climbing and gymnast routines, and vice versa.

The grapple feat is bad. Grappling and pushing can make a tank very effective in 5e.
