So what would happen if someone got this way with the steroids initially, but then switched to a completely natural routine?
Assuming they kept up with enough training and ate enough calories, could they maintain this naturally? Or would they slowly lose it regardless?

Honestly there are more anecdotes of this actually happening in this thread than I’m comfortable with.

Honestly, if someone showed up with a fresh pizza at the right time of day, I’d have a hard time ignoring the option.

For me, it’s when an obese person starts trying to parade their condition as healthy and normal. This obviously isn’t true, and especially for our children’s sake this behavior needs to be shut down firmly. It’s just not that hard to maintain a moderately healthy weight for some very high % of adults, a small amount of self-control and informed decision making is really all it takes.

It also doesn’t make sense from a practical standpoint, if only because well functioning autonomous cars will extremely rarely be faced with situations like this. These cars will see those kids becoming potential obstructions at certain math-based thresholds of distance and speed etc, communicate with other surrounding cars the information and slow down/orient accordingly, all way sooner than any human could, and all in the blink of an eye. The whole debate surrounding this specific scenario just paints a picture of people not really understanding how computers work.

Thing is, oftentimes these dropouts, particularly the college dropouts, ended up successful because dropping out was a calculated decision.
They dropped out because they decided their time was better spent building the foundations of their businesses rather than on school.

Her reply is almost certainly somewhere between nothing at all and more of the most ignorant bullshit you could think of. It is a complete waste of time trying to reach these people in any substantial way.

Just adding another vote saying whatever they changed with texture loading was a huge step backwards, game runs like shit now compared to how it's always been in the past for me.

Also having this issue and it is just terrible. The game literally performs worse than it ever has for me, no matter what settings I change.

Have you been buying mostly bare tools? Having started with the yard equipment and picking up a few other flex volt tools for some projects I honestly have more batteries and chargers than I really need already lol, without buying any separate batteries.

The thing is, and it sounds like you already know this but it might not be obvious to some, having these conversations about the teams you’re most comfortable and productive with sometimes might not happen at all unless you make them happen. Especially as smaller companies grow. It’s absolutely on management to skip this input from the engineers, and it’s their fault that you’re forced to be proactive about it, but the fact is that sometimes you need to say the right things to the right people to help your situation, especially if management is bad and clueless.

Just recently jumped back in with the release of Beyond Light and I must say - this whole idea of "sunsetting" gear, in a game that's so centrally focused on the grind for gear, seems like such a ridiculously stupid idea.
It's confusing for new or returning players, and just seems to needlessly suck fun out of the game. Honestly, who thought it was a brilliant idea to -guarantee- loot would be ultimately useless, no matter what, from large parts of the game, in a game like Destiny? Maybe don't let that person make big decisions anymore, I'm sure there's paperwork that needs caught up, coffee needs made, etc.

This is where I’m at with the g7 32”. I’ve used an acer predator xb1 for years, and while the immersion from the huge curved screen is mostly fantastic, the stuttering brought on by the g7’s inferior gsync feels terrible, even if it really is only minor. If the g7 was my first gsync panel, I bet I’d be blown away completely, but having used a real gsync module for years, I can feel the difference. Probably going to return it.

Yes, I agree that nvidia's drivers definitely haven't been perfect! It's just funny how you get so attached to an ecosystem with stuff like this that makes it easier to dismiss that stuff in your head lol.

This is just my 2c, but I found that certain games really helped to ease me into smooth loco rather quickly, with zero issues now (and the first time I tried to use smooth in HLA I instantly got sick).
Those games being Jet Island and Until You Fall.
Jet Island might seem counter-intuitive because you are MOVING in that game, but there’s something about your brain being OK with using the jets on your wrist to control your movement. It’s as if the brain accepts the movement you see as a direct result of using the wrist jets. Still might take some time, but It was a rapid adjustment for myself.
Until You Fall just has a very handy setting that greatly reduces your FOV specifically while you’re moving, and the intensity of this effect can be tuned via a slider. Found this to be very helpful in training the brain to accept the joystick as a valid means of movement.
Best of luck! Smooth loco is definitely the best way to VR once you can handle it well.

There is certainly luck involved, and there are some unfortunate souls who’ve had to RMA despite taking very good care of their index.
But again, this sub (and VR subreddits in general) are both the first places someone would choose to be vocal about issues they’re having, as well as being relatively small sample sizes of the index-using population. For every legitimate RMA there are surely at least hundreds if not thousands of happy customers who’ve no need to complain on this small corner of the internet.
Best of luck to my index people! I’ve been fortunate to not have any issues in ~6 months of use so far, and similar to OP, I’ve definitely had a few accidents lol.

When browsing this subreddit and scrolling through post after post of various RMAs, it's important to remember that a lot of people are just unbelievably careless with their stuff. I would bet $$$$$ that, if a decent amount of these RMA posters were being 100% truthful about the circumstances leading up to their various issues, you'd be left dumbfounded that they were ever allowed near such expensive hardware in the first place.
Not saying legitimate RMAs don't happen, but no one is surprised that your headset is fucked after you literally, purposefully and repeatedly beat it against the wall. Don't think for one second that some depressingly-significant percentage of issues don't come about exactly as such, lol.

I love how the entire spirit of this mindset is “well we need to make someone sit in a corner while we point and yell!” The actual situation is so nuanced and emergent that someone choosing to focus on this part of the conversation sends them straight to clown college. Not a left or right thing, mostly a maturity thing.
