Probably because for the first few years of the Xbox One, there wasn't a guide. And even when they added the guide back in, a single press would take you home, and a double press would open the guide. But the Guide button is always what I've referred to it as

Yes, that is what I was trying to convey. The PS2 was more complex and difficult to develop for compared to the Xbox, and the PS2 was also less powerful

I'd agree that PCSX2 is far from perfect, but it is still way ahead of where the original Xbox emulation is currently. Which in my opinion is very impressive given how it was a whole lot more complex, even if it was quite a bit less powerful

And yet PS2, GameCube, Wii, PS3, and 360 are arguably in much better shape than the Original Xbox in terms of emulation. The original Xbox ran an off the shelf Intel chip and used DirectX, yet it is still very hard to emulate to this day.

Yeah I've heard it was a very soft image. I ended up playing it on PC, so I can't say from experience. But the resolution count comes from an article on Eurogamer (the folks that do Digital Foundry).
But to be fair many games from that vintage ran at pretty low resolutions. Most of the COD games on the 360 were 600p or so, and generally slightly lower on PS3.

It's not even 720p, it was rendering at 960x540 with 4x MSAA up scaled to 720p

I'm not saying they won't. All I'm saying is just because they are ahead now, doesn't guarantee that they will always be ahead. I think Apple was one of the first to realize that ARM was going to be the future for computer chips, and that gave them a head start. But now they will remain proprietary. The rest of the industry has a lot of resources to put into this. Also, Nvidia will own ARM, you can guarantee that they will be investing very heavily in high performance ARM cores.
And when it comes to graphics, Nvidia has dominated, so that will be another advantage. They could easily become the go to laptop chip for graphics intensive applications, even if their cores continue to lag behind Apple.

Apple is on top now, but I'm sure others will continue to innovate. The tech world isn't stagnate. Nobody could touch Intel in performance for the longest time, and now AMD is eating their lunch. Apple is a big company, but the entire rest of the chip market is much much larger, and have lots of money to invest in innovations. Plus, even if others can't match them in performance, I'm sure they will be able to produce a chip that is plenty fast for me. And build quality isn't really a huge issue for me. I have a MacBook Pro (2015) and a Dell XPS 15 for work. They're both great. Sure the Mac is more solid, but that doesn't mean that the XPS is bad by any means. It still feels very solid in its own right. And before that, I had a 2013 XPS 15 that I used until late 2019 without any issues whatsoever. I've never had any issues making other brands laptops last me a long time, given that they are well taken care of. I still have a 2011 Fujitsu that's perfectly function. My MacBook on the other hand, became much slower, and the battery life suffered greatly after upgrading to Big Sur. I installed PopOS on it, and now it runs great. Plus games run better via Proton with Vulkan than they do on MacOS, at least the ones that I've played via steam.

Also all save files are backed up automatically, and automatically downloaded on new systems when you start up the game. I have never even had to think about save games on my Xbox. If I go to a friend's house and log in, my save is there. If a game on my PC supports cross save with Xbox (many GamePass games support this), that's automatic too. It's effortless

Honestly I am in the same boat. I don't hate Apple, but I don't particularly like them all that much. I'm waiting for Linux to become viable on the M1, and it seems like it may get there soon.
But also waiting to see how the Chromebooks with ARM and Nvidia RTX GPUs turn out as well. The next few years will be very interesting for Laptops I think
