Super fly. Forget the haters.

For real. First film, almost every shot is Dutch angle. So annoying once you notice it.

Isn’t that the cult that publishes Washington Times?

Even if she was white, it wouldn’t matter. Jamaicans aren’t the only people who do dreads. Cultures from around the world, through history, and across races, have dreaded their hair.

Great way to flush the Trumpers, I guess

To my tastes, there are times when the show is fantastic, and times when it isn’t. But season 4 is pretty incredible.

He’s totally lying and dodging the question. Fantastic! Good news for fans.

Same. Here’s hoping for no warping, no dupes, and (for my personal tastes) no Sketches of Spain! 😆 but it’s looking like everyone is getting that disc.

Clearly one of the greatest musicians ever. But I wasn’t very excited by this album on my first listen. I should listen a few more times. This is a great price.

Yeah, Dr. Doom! I’d love to see that.

Enjoy!! Are there any of the movies you haven’t seen yet?

Good for you!! I’m so glad you got to see them. (And meet them! Wow!!)

Good memories to cherish.

I’m late to the thread, but here’s my two cents.

I don’t include Kontroversy in their prime, just in their classic “original sound” period. I see their prime as Face to Face up to Muswell Hillbillies—their best stuff. For Show-Biz, I’d include the live disc for sure, and even the b-side of the studio disc. But the a-side of the first disc is somewhat uninspired and feels like the throwaways from Muswell.

Then there’s the dip from Preservation Act 1 to School Boys, which all have good moments. But IMO, the songwriting took a back seat to the storytelling.

Sleepwalker comes back mightily. Suddenly they’ve found themselves again. Misfits is almost as good. And with Low Budget, the songs are strong but I’m not a fan of the production. So I normally skip right to the live album from this period to get the Low Budget tracks because the performances are more organic and raw.

I got a feeling the "country" in "All for our country" is not the United States but Deseret.

Who's the sheep now, Janene?

Wasn’t he also in another MCU movie for a hot second?

Pizza eating guy in the computer lab was a cool return in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And bar tender in Captain Marvel returning from AoS was wild. Didn’t pick up on it til I read it in this subreddit. But Woo in WandaVision was definitely my favorite returnee. Couldn’t get enough of him in Antman and Wasp. Lady Sif’s various surprise appearances have also been great.

A clever detail in the writing:

At the restaurant scene near the start of the film, they are establishing Shang-Chi and Katy's relationship by talking about how they meet. On one level, they are demonstrating Katy's quirky approach to threats (not fight or flight but surprise), which returns on the scaffolding fight scene. Good character building for her. On a second level, they are creating a precedent that Katy is unaware of Shang-Chi's ability to fight. And so she clearly assumes he can't particularly help himself in a threatening situation—making the bus fight scene that much more thrilling. But on a third level—capturing the very fun, lightheartedness of it all—in their story, the bully calls him "Gangam Style" and he says he's Chinese, not Korean. This is a clear reference to his breakout role playing a Korean character on Kim's Convenience.

I got this recently too, and I was astounded by what I heard for the first time because of this new mix. Giles Martin brings it all out. Glass Onion, for instance, blew me away. Never cared for that track before.

The sounds are the absolute worst. I always jump at the end of the album to make sure I don’t have to hear it. 😂

Calling occupants is one trippy song. As catchy as it is weird!

If you haven’t heard Gilberto Gil’s self-titled 1968 album, check it out. Os Mutantes is the backup band and they kill it.
