It's very good. Bbq poutine had me in heaven. Not "traditional" though.

Trying to find affordable housing in this city is a nightmare. When we moved into our first place here, my fiance and I were looking for somewhere under $800 a month. We ended up just above that, and our property mgmt was shit. The last year we lived there we had raccoons in the ceiling because the company wouldn't fix the holes in the building they were using to get up there, they'd just trap them and release them 100 ft away like that would solve the problem. This turned into big leaks and holes in the ceiling which at one point almost dumped a raccoon into our living room while we were sitting in it.

The pool was always being shut down because they couldn't keep it clean, raw sewage backed up into the basement when the pipes clogged and they didn't bother to come out and fix it for a week, there was a fire in a different building (probably due to the squirrels in the walls, all the buildings had them because they wouldn't fix the siding) and the building sat without a roof for a year. We lived in that apt for three years and when we moved out they still hadn't fixed things on our move-in checklist.

My friend lives in a different affordable apartment complex and her experience has been just as much - if not more - of a nightmare. These complexes know that the people renting from them don't have many other options and very little resources to go after them for the shit they pull.

I love milk duds but had to give them up because they made me anxious about my crowns every time I tried to eat them! Just not worth it. Rolos are an adequate substitute, though not quite as good.

Been doing this for years - people still get pissed off and flip me the bird back, just not as often. Oh well.

Duh, pegasus aren't born, they're created out of a little cirrus, a touch of nimbostratus, and a dash of cumulus.

The Backyard Bird Center in the Northland (Barry Rd & I29/152) does occasional birding walks in the area. My mom has been on a few and loved them!

My grandmother has a pretty severe case of "covid fog", it gets progressively worse throughout the day, and she struggles with word recall. She's always been verbose, a great storyteller, but now she'll stop halfway through sentences because she can't remember the commonplace word she was going to say next. She struggles with logical reasoning, and I've noticed a significant decline in her spelling/grammar since before she was diagnosed. She says it's like trying to run through wet sand, her brain doesn't move nearly as fast as it used to and sometimes she gets stuck.

I don't think you should beat yourself up for "falling for the act" per se. I think it's more like you grew up, you matured and changed, and you extended that opportunity to someone who was dear to you. The fact that you still talk about him with compassion even when he was an asshole to you shows that you care about him still. But you've also matured enough to realize when someone isn't going to live up to the opportunities you lend them, and that you're worth more than putting up with the bad behavior the way you did in high school.

I'm not convinced of that. Did the father do a horrible thing? Yes, but what would be his motive in surrendering himself and admitting to it if he was truly "evil" like some people are calling him? It sounds more like severe mental illness to me (or perhaps drugs), at least with the facts in the article. In which case, he doesn't deserve a beating for being ill.

Parker Farms is a little further out, but they do biweekly or monthly delivery meetups (can't remember which) in the Northland. My parents have been getting local eggs and meat from them for years and love it!

Ours said that we did a great job and were more productive than normal when everyone was working from home 100% of the time. So now they've decided they're going to "test" everyone working from home 4 days a month because they want to see if it will work. :| We already did the test and you just said results were great, why scale it back now? I want the opposite - one day a week in-office and the rest at home!

Good thing I'm not a janitor in Vegas. $200 is not enough for me to not hand the shitter mop and tell him to get to work.
