Thinking in terms of value is what I do.

Sometimes, the cheapest version of a thing is good enough. But sometimes, spending a little more will get something more durable or otherwise better and save money in replacements over the long term (or just be more enjoyable).

On the other hand, if something has no value to you, don't get it.

It's not about bankrupting them. It's about making it unprofitable to skirt the law.

300% of revenue earned by skirting the law, not 120% of net profit.

It's got to hurt or they'll keep doing it.

Money markets are designed to be relatively safe, but they have lower returns as a result. If that's where you had most of your money, that would explain the low returns.

If you want more places, then you'll have to diversify out of stocks. VTSAX simulates the entire market, so has a piece of every publicly traded company, roughly weighted by market cap.

What are you invested in? If it's individual stocks, I recommend a total market fund instead, such as VTSAX.

This comment chain is about them having been in 100% bonds. It says nothing about the vehicle with which they bought them.

Yeah, who cares about the 3% when they missed out on like 400% since 2009

Cop being on the wrong side? How could he possibly

COMMENT 6d ago

Perhaps they don't spend $150k a year? I myself spend closer to a quarter or a fifth of that. $700k with a paid off house for me is not that far from retirement.

COMMENT 6d ago

Then you need $3.75 million in order to retire and you're not particularly close.

COMMENT 6d ago

Helium? Nah. VTSAX is where it's at.

To me it sounded like she thought being thrown out of the restaurant = being raped by illegal aliens.

All they eat is horse paste.

The good news is they put Xiangling on every other banner so you'll be at c17 like the rest of us in no time.

Because the comment it's a reply to said that people who are anti-abortion are also the ones that had that comment's opinion. That commenter is basically saying they had that opinion without being anti-abortion.

It's not worth worrying about Mu at this time. Most variants haven't taken the world by storm. If we start seeing Mu defeat all other local variants, then we can worry.

EDIT: Especially because, for right now, there's no real change in what you can do about it. Just keep taking reasonable covid precautions.

Congratulations on the privilege bro.

Yep, the seniors get away with it, but fighting back and ONLY the freshman gets punished. Saw it time after time. Happened to me, too.

Entertainingly, Sharia is exactly what they desire.

COMMENT 9d ago

It's not really logical fallacy. They want to hurt people. In both of their positions, they succeed.

COMMENT 9d ago

He just called the cops on people minding their own business, sounds like he's the one who won't help anyone in need.

The good news is most kids still aren't having that rough of a time with delta. But unlike with previous variants, there are definitely some kids getting hit hard by it.

Spend on experiences. Treat those as an investment in yourself.

I took a train trip earlier this year. It was expensive, but it was a really cool experience.
