Turns out when you lift a large vessel filled with water above your shoulder line, a lot of people are unprepared for how awkward that is to tip.

That was the first episode I saw because someone insisted it was mandatory viewing, and honestly though the rest of the show is pretty good, it always sat in its own shadow for me. I might quote Ludicrous Display more often, but only because meekly saying "Leg disabled" isn't a crowd-pleaser in a vacuum.

Chivalry II fuckin' rips though.

Yeah so far we haven't let it be a hurdle to anything important, but it has led to some fun "Who's On First?"-esque conversations

My current campaign, we've just recruited a sea elf, who only speaks Elven and Acquan. My wizard speaks Elven, and our druid speaks Acquan, so we have a lot of hilarious four-way conversations where we keep repeating ourselves and asking the same questions in different languages while forgetting to translate anything back to the Paladin. It has indeed been a great RP trigger.

Probably a coincidence.

Oh I can correct it easily: this isn't true at all, the scene uses plenty of CGI, the blue sections were a conscious choice.

The frames of the glasses are misshapen to get this effect. If you watch it in motion you can see it's slightly pointed over her left eyebrow. There's a ~0% chance this was an accident.

Because even Sword has a better aesthetic, the art direction takes the hardware into consideration, and there's consistency between all the elements. This new one looks like an asset flip; pre-gen, generic geography, with entirely unrelated character assets.

I've heard some of the big streamers say they just read the "mood" of the chat based on the words or emojis they see a lot, most of them will also have moderators that can highlight good messages for them.

Yep, staged or not, the execution was exceptional. Every frame a painting. No wasted beats. Perfect comedic timing every step of the way.

The best part is that his chat is/was in emoji only mode, so no one could tell him there was a problem. You just had thousands of people trying to communicate with him in rapid-fire heiroglyphics.

We don't get that in Aus. That's why our DC stuff is spread out over 6 different streaming services.

COMMENT 8d ago

Ugh I forgot it's already started, DC stuff is always a fuck-around here in Aus. Still only got season 1 of Harley Quinn on our Prime, crossing fingers Netflix gets new Titans, can't even remember which one had Doom Patrol.

Titans is the most Marvel of the DC outings, for me. I enjoy it, but I don't recommend it to anyone because I know it's not particularly good. But I've always had a soft spot for Nightwing and Conner, and I will always support any attempt to give them more screen time.

Maybe season 3 will actually do Nightwing some, ahem, justice...

Yeah, we got a lot more out of wandering around Hiroshima itself than the actual museum. Outside of the horror of the direct effects of the bomb, it did feel very hollow.

Wandering around the Hiroshima museum and overhearing a random Chinese dude explaining (in English) the other side of a couple of the exhibits was an enlightening experience, I tell you hwat. "Oh... So this is interesting, we call this 'The Rape of Nanking'..."

COMMENT 9d ago

No for real, it's a film shoot. And also that dude who looks over at him, walks towards him, then acts surprised that a sword comes at his face is not a very good actor at all.

COMMENT 9d ago

doesn't this 'What if' also kind of imply that kid T'Challa running from home leads to the whole of Wakanda being destroyed? That's kinda fucked up.

It didn't, no. It is revealed halfway through the episode that was a lie. Unless you mean as a side-product of the whole planet maybe being destroyed when Peter Quill meets his dad without 20 years of personal growth, then yes.

But I agree, these are just some pretty dumb fun, nothing of substance so far, very Saturday Morning Cartoon vibes.

There's an interesting snag in that due to this movie, Thanos is an eternal and technically a deviant sort of. So, he should have been immune to the Infinity Stones, and also register as important to deal with by these Eternals. Maybe? It's probably best if they just don't address it too much. Perhaps both of those don't count precisely because he's a half-breed. All of their strengths, none of their weaknesses kinda thing.

Yeah this is a fresh one to me, Afghans are dogs, rugs, or shrugs (shoulder rugs I guess, which is something I've never put together before); I'd never heard someone make this correction before yesterday. It doesn't feel right to say, but I'm gonna put the effort in!
