I like starting fires. Its my god-given right to start fires. Its my freedom. No one has ever been hurt by any of my fires before. Why cant I hang out on your street near your house?

As someone from the south who was raised pentacostal, evangelical fundamentalist, I whole-heartedly agree. They used to drill into our heads that society would turn to Satan and Christians would be hated everywhere. Then I realized they do it to themselves and are too dumb to realize it.

COMMENT 7h ago

People who expect everyone in society to cater to their "deeply held religious beliefs" are always the first to stomp out others beliefs.

Making laws where you get to force your religion on others is difficult. Tell people they can force THEIR beliefs on others if theyre on your side, and then call it "freedom" and the morons will fight and die for you.

I say this as a Christian who is disgusted and ashamed at the church.

No, to be FAIR, fuck them. That is not in any sense fair or just.

Or they could just be lying because they are grown up toddlers throwing a tantrum.

Maybe if we started charging people with fraud or theft of services for lying about non-existent medical conditions, they would actually face consequences for their actions and quit their bullshitting.

Also, having a condition doesn't automatically mean you get to walk around indoors without a mask. If other services like pickup or instacart are available, or even if they offer to do your shopping for you, the grocery store does not HAVE to allow you inside. If they say no one is allowed in without a mask, that means no one. Sorry if you actually have a condition, but I would guess that most people who actually have real medical conditions would not want to be mingling in the public without a mask during a pandemic, or would be understanding enough to use pickup.

My god, you actually didnt understand it. Wow. Okay, Ill explain.

"My body, my choice" does not apply when your decisions of what you do affect the safety of others. The government can make laws that "control" you and prevent you from taking certain actions if they can cause harm to other people, like prohibiting you from driving drunk. You cannot say, "Its MY decision. If I want to take a chance with my life, its up to ME. Government has no say!" This is false because it doesnt affect JUST you. It directly puts the health and welfare of society at risk, and government has the responsibility and authority to regulate that.

Same as mandatory vaccines and masks. They have had the power forever, like it or not. Denying it just makes you look ignorant and like a petulant toddler throwing a tantrum.

COMMENT 2d ago

Cant comprehend the analogy, and calls the example stupid. I cant decide if you actually dont understand or are purposefully acting ignorant. So cars are "indestructible", yet how many people are killed in car accidents? How many pedestrians? How many drunk drivers have killed innocent people? Thats why we have a law against drunk driving, even though its "your body, your choice, freedom, dont tread on me, etc".

1

COMMENT 2d ago

Not how that works. Try that logic when you get pulled over for drinking and driving. But something tells me you wont be able to understand why this is a stupid argument.

2

COMMENT 2d ago

You are less likely to spread the virus if youre vaxxed though. Also less likely to be hospitalized and taking up valuable resources in hospitals, which prevents other people from dying.

2

COMMENT 2d ago

Hope you can sleep at night knowing you are causing the pain and suffering and death of innocent people, as well as causing this pandemic to continue on. I really hope it never affects you or your family personally, like your job or your health. But that seems to be the only things that actually affects sociopaths. Hope you wake up before it comes to that point. Or the government just decides to mandate them and fine antivaxxers to oblivion.

COMMENT 2d ago

Which part is incorrect. Because apparently a lot of freedom Constitution loving patriots dont even understand 100 years of law and precedence. If idiots paid attention in history class, we wouldnt have to keep having stupid fights over stuff that has been settled a long time ago.

COMMENT 2d ago

People who dont get the vaccine are selfish assholes, un-American, and have blood on their hands. If they dont want to participate in society, we should be able to remove them from society. Exile, deportation, etc.

1

COMMENT 2d ago

You are 100% incorrect.

1

COMMENT 2d ago

No rights are unlimited. Humanity survives because we learned to cooperate, sacrifice, coordinate, not all be lone wolves who only care about ourselves. If you want the freedom to not participate in society, society should have the freedom to excommunicate and exile you from it. Its only fair.

If you think the covid 19 vaccine of 2021 is less safe or less tested than the smallpox vaccine from over a hundred years ago, your critical thinking skills and scientific and medical knowledge prove you shouldnt be making any decisions yourself in regards to these things. You definitely should just listen to actual experts.

2

COMMENT 2d ago

Wrong. Literally the point of the article.

5

COMMENT 2d ago

I highly doubt any of this. And is not something to think about when bringing up covid death tolls. You clearly have no idea how causes of death are listed and you should be ashamed for trying to cast doubt on something you know nothing about and did no research on. Either that, or you DO know and youre just lying.

No he's saying these private for-profit "schools" have turned real education into trade school diploma mills that dont teach you enough to succeed, just enough to perform the basic job functions.

Small enough to fit on an armband.

Except some stores like Kroger have instructed their employees to not ask non-compliant customers to leave. Not allowed to. Ask them to mask and they can say "Fuck you" and you just have to let them shop. If you see it, call corporate or at least tell a manager and complain. If enough people complain, maybe theyll actually enforce their own policy.

COMMENT 4d ago

Diverting? Like sending them to other hospitals? And they stopped because all the hospitals are full? Just making sure I understand...

1

COMMENT 4d ago

Your whole take is wrong. This is the same line of thought racists used to deny black people services. If you have a business, you shouldnt be able to discriminate. If you believe people should be able to discriminate with their business, you are supporting racism, bigotry, homophobia, and do not believe in equality. And youre a piece of shit if you believe that.

Reminder: If you go into a retail store and see people without masks, PLEASE complain to management. These workers and even managers want to make them wear a mask or leave (my friend is a manager at a Kroger owned store), but their hands are tied due to corporate decision not to enforce the mandate. They are literally trapped in there with these anti-mask jerks with no way to fight back because corporate only hears complaints from anti-maskers and never from responsible people. Say something to the manager and if you can take 5 minutes, call corporate and complain. Please. Thats the only thing that will change their minds about enforcing the mandate.

2

COMMENT 5d ago

If you see people walking around unmasked during a mandate, PLEASE complain to management about not enforcing the mandate. The corporate offices are more afraid of antivaxxers than responsible people because they complain and threaten and bully the loudest.

The problem with for profit news and information. If the right wing accuses you of being dishonest and biased, you lose viewers and have to close shop. There is no way to stop them or disprove them, so you have to do damage control as much as possible, which leads to overcorrecting the opinion that your viewers have that you are biased.
