The retail this building is replacing is chronically vacant and won’t be a huge loss compared to a gain of this many units. The choice is up to every cat owner, but it’s pretty clear keeping cats indoors is the option that keeps them safer.

My heart is broken into a million pieces today. My mother has been very very open about abortions in the family history with me, including her own. Thanks to safe and legal abortion she was able to build a life and didn’t sustain any damage from the procedure so she was able to have my sister and I when she was ready. Legal abortion is part of why I’m here today. If I hear another “Christian” talking about how worried they are for women in Afghanistan and how awful taliban rule is for women I’m gonna fucking snap. (Obviously women in Afghanistan’s lives are immeasurably harder I just can’t stand the hypocrisy of the idea that our restrictions on women are okay because they’re Christian, Muslims restrictions on women are the problem). How many women will be torn apart and prosecuted over miscarriages? How many partners who drove to the clinic will be charged as accomplices? How can anyone think this is about protecting babies? I’m so fucking tired and so angry at our legislators for leaving this to SCOTUS.

From what I’ve seen it’s mostly young wfh folks. It’s not a place to snowbird it’s literally just potato and mushroom farms and a small college. No big lakes to boat in or go to the beach at, it’s a high mountain desert and extremely unforgiving. Folks think they’re gonna move there and Instagram homestead or something but they’re in for a rude awakening.

It’s happening so fast it makes my head spin. My family’s ancestry is largely a part of southern Colorado very few people wanted to live before and even that is growing like you wouldn’t believe. There’s hardly anything to do and it’s 20 below 3 weeks out of the year but all of a sudden people are moving there like crazy. I’m hoping the city slickers booming small towns is short lived but I know that’s unlikely.

My mom and I go back and forth about this a lot. When my boyfriend and I first got together we were both gung ho about kids but as the years go by we talk about it less and less. When it does come up we talk about adopting. At least we can love somebody who already exists and is gonna have to live with this world with us or without us.

I think the thing to remember here is anybody we’re used to seeing on a polished national stage is going to look out of place in somebody’s apartment. A lead singer of a famous band will, most career politicians will, other celebrities will. We’re conditioned to believe they don’t belong in everyday spaces so when they appear in everyday spaces they look out of place. Hillary doesn’t look any more out of place than someone else who’s spent 30+ years under the lights on the national stage.
