If their work impacts yours because you are a co-worker, you need to keep good records. If this person reports to you, you need to learn the term "corrective action plan." If this person is your boss, you need to learn the term "manage up."

Working with people you don't like, or are incompetent, or are even immoral is a basic job skill that everyone should have. Sure you can leave your job. But you should also be able to figure out how to remain in that situation and still be successful.

Led Zeppelin IV

How has no one has mentioned this? I had to downvote a Depeche Mode album before deciding to post this. That's just freaking crazy.

During WWII, how did the USA handle the vulnerability of the mainland with so many resources in Europe and the Pacific?

Uhhhm, so then this guy totally steals our drugs. You're going to go look for him, right?

Ha! That's crazy. We called it a black and white mocha. I like zebra latte!

COMMENT 16d ago

I used to order it by calling my cup. But because of everyone being so confused when they entered my order and forgetting the details, I order it like someone who never worked at Starbucks. "Uuuuum, Can I have a latte, with whole milk, and two pumps of mocha and two pumps of white mocha. No whipped cream please."

Interesting. I expected that not to be the case because every time I order a drink these days and call my cup the way it should be called, the people taking my order struggle. Maybe it's the POS system?

Oh it was absolutely ad hominem. Let's not make this sound nicer than it really is now that I've called you out on it.

What you said was the only people arguing for a date prior to 65 were conservative Christians who wish to argue for their religious faith. And it took me about 5 minutes to provide you evidence to support a potential dating prior to that point. And you're talking to a guy who's been out of the scholarship world for quite some time.

If you are actually reading the people that you say you are, then you have all the evidence that you need. If you choose to ignore that evidence and believe other argumentation, that's a choice you are making. But don't disparage people simply because you disagree with them.

From your comments in this thread, you clearly take time to make cogent arguments and attempt to engage people in good faith. That's good, and I'm glad for you. But when you choose a side, and then suggest that if anyone argues the other side it's simply because they're trying to defend their religious faith, you show your hand.

For the record, I've seen this video a bunch of times now. As far as I can tell, she never touches this guy. She's definitely in his face, but she never touches this guy. He puts His hands on her, which causes her to slap him. The fact that this guy punches a woman, regardless of whether she slaps him, is absolutely unacceptable in my personal opinion.

This is great advice. I'd just like to add one thing.

Just because portions of a biblical book are poetic, or "non-literal" as is being mentioned here, doesn't mean that all of it is not factual.

For instance - There's a difference between saying the book of Revelation is apocalyptic literature, and therefore should be interpreted in a particular way, and then saying that the things derived from the interpretation are not real and factual and actual events, or pieces of information.

Similarly in the book of Genesis, it's clear parts of it are poetic, but that doesn't mean they aren't communicating truths. It would be quite easy for me to write a poem about how I met my wife and express that to you in poetic language, right? And yet I actually did meet my wife and she is a real person and so am I.

So suggesting the genre of a piece of literature should be interpreted in a particular way doesn't require that that piece of literature therefore is not based in reality, or sharing factual information. That type of argument is regularly made by people attempting to degrade the reliability and factual nature of scripture, but it is not warranted and not required by standard exegetical method.

If you have no money in the United States you are eligible for health benefits and cancer care. So there's nothing to complain about.

And I never said buy a plane ticket. I said if you're unhappy you can go somewhere else, meaning, there are plenty of other countries and you're welcome to move.

Just to add a little bit here: Dew point is actually what is changing. Dew point is the temperature at which air is saturated with water vapor. Humidity is a measure between dew point and temperature. With increased dew points relative to temperature ("humidity"), there is more moisture in the air, which most people find a bit uncomfortable. People tend to perceive winter dew points in the teens or single digits as "dry." Summer dew points 70° or above are oppressive.

Thr lower the dew point, the easier it is for our bodies to cool through sweat. The higher the dew point, the more moisture is both in the air and on our skin, which makes cooling our body temperature more difficult because the sweat doesn't evaporate as quickly, thus cooling our skin. This is the difference between what some people call a "dry heat" and a place that is the same temperature, only has a higher dew point.

So it's definitely humidity, but there's a lot of fun things in addition to that that impact how we perceive warm and cold.

Just got back from a trip in June. Every time I look at pictures, I take a deep breath, and relax just a little bit.

Ex-barista here - Do they still teach baristas to actually read the cup and call drinks properly, or do you guys just use the screens these days? I used to be able to call drinks from top to bottom on the cup, and hold about six or seven drinks in my head working the bar. With all of the stickers and the changes with the software I'm curious how things are done these days?
